I searched and didn't find anything. Are there any other manufacturers that make something like this that has a storage container and other mounting for items.? Would be cool to see something like this with some rotopax mounts on the sides for some liquid storage.

Those sidewall patches seem pretty nice after watching the videos... I will be getting a kit. And yes... carry plugs as well. Just not convinced yet I can carry a 40 inch spare. I know there are some options. Just not completely sold on any of them as of yet, while I am trying to figure out additional gas cans.

Yeah, coming from an F-150 and a 36 gallon tank, I have to really look for space and what is necessary for gear. On the truck, I had the 35 inch spare tucked into the factory location, and then on occasion I threw a second one in the back and strapped it underneath a large DeWalt lockable chest with all sorts of crap in it.

I am leaning towards the spare tire rack thing that can hold a couple 2 gallon rotopax cans on it.

I bring both plugs and patches along with a spare. A lot depends on where you're wheeling, what your experience is, and what the difficulty of the trail is. All covered above. BTW, those patches are GREAT for cuts the size of the knife that guy uses in the video. If they re longer, it gets a bit dicey. But, still, they can get you off the current obstacle at the very least. Which brings up another point. If you're on a hairy obstacle, and you get a flat, that's probably not the best spot/time to try and swap out the tire for the spare. So having plugs and patches in addition to a spare might be useful.

That actually make some decent sidewall repair kits. I do not have one, but seen several YouTube videos of them being used on Bronco's. I have a puncture repair kit, but that only plugs a nail (or similar type) hole.

Haha, the debate can go on and on! 😁
I would never try to tell someone how they should prepare for the trail or a drive to the Dairy Queen. That’s their business. I was just trying to make the point that nothing can guarantee the vehicle makes it back without issue.

But on the other hand if I take off spare tire it’s conveyed as being a total idiot by some folks.

Maybe there are plenty of people that do bring 2 spares with them. I say šŸ‘.

Not sure if I'm missing something but why would anyone ever REMOVE their full size spare then try and figure out what the best emergency measure they can do to replace it? What is the upside to removing your factory full size spare?

because a 40 inch spare does not fit really well in the stock location and blocks ANY view out the back it is way way heavy, and could possibly cause damage to the tailgate (even with a nice heavy duty support) and it physically now can catch on rocks and overhangs caving in the tail gate...... There valid are reasons...

Let me help.
Removing 100 pound off Ford’s flimsy tailgate. (Sasquatch) does this:
Better rear view.
Able to use bike racks without extension.
Easier tailgate operation.
Less stress on tailgate hinges.
More space in garage.
Increase vehicle payload.
Easier to clean.
Lower center of gravity.
Shorter stopping distance.
Quicker acceleration.
Easier to park.
Increased fuel efficiency.
Increase off-road ability.
Style uniqueness.
Ability to mount a wide variety of accessories.
Less noise from tailgate.
Increased trailer tongue weight capacity.
No tire cover needed.
No jack required.
???

It’s not a permanent modification.

Great list and great reasons. I am going to consider at some point removing my spare and getting the tailgate storage box. I don’t off road so those reasons go out the window. If I did get a flat I would call CAA who I pay a yearly fee to to fix my tire or tow me. Again, I don’t off road so my needs are different.
I am hoping to get the Bronco Mountain E bike so this would fit in nicely with a bike carrying rig.
I come from sports car world. I had a Solstice GXP Convertible and a Coupe. They did not have spare tires. Between the two of them over 15 years I had one tire blow. Called CAA and they put it on a flat bed and took her to my dealership for a new tire.

The world is a funny place.

Go over to a BMW forum and read any of the hundred threads on the topic of runflat tires and the owners who buy a spare tire kit to stick in the trunk (and take up half the trunk space) when they roadtrip their Bimmer.

In contrast to a genuine ORV that comes with a full-capability spare tire, and people buy a spare tire delete kit.

Funny.

All depends on what you consider "Flat repair"

It was an auto. Bought her used with 1000 miles on her. Drove her to 15 thousand miles and kept the roadster miles down. Decided to sell her at 15 thousand before miles got up there. Actually made $5000 on a car!!! The roaster was a manual. Way more fun to drive. Was very passionate about that world for at least 12 years. Then I took up riding and got a Harley. Quit that this year but it was a neat adventure for 3 seasons and I did not kill myself. Now it is just me and my 7 speed two door base Bronco and I could not be happier. Oh….possibly a Bronco E Bike in the future. From Harley to E Bike…..I am unique.🤣

4 months ago while driving away from home on a business trip, a razor blade from a utility knife went right thru my RR tire, went from 40 psi to 10 in about 4 minutes. No way would a plug stop this leak. I filled it up at a rural gas station and beat feet back to my hotel in town (to have AAA change it) just as it went flat again. I was out of town, in the middle of orange orchards in central california, and I was lucky to get into town. I would have walked for at least a mile or 2 to get a cell signal.
Fast forward 3 months I'm on a pretty rocky trail to Laurel Lakes in Mammoth, by myself. The thought of not having my full size spare up there was just stoopid scary. I would have been screwed in either situation if I didn't have my spare, once in reality and the other on a trail with tons of sharp rocks.

Sorry to hear about your ordeal. I got this Power Tank kit that claims that a repair of up to 6 inches can be performed. I don’t know how easy that would be but all tire repairs aren’t that difficult. There are also numerous other possible issues that can disable a vehicle at any given time. You can only be so prepared.

Was it in the tread, or the sidewall? If in the sidewall I found this that seems to work well. https://www.gluetread.com/?gad_sour...I--_KpEEY0dtTrzUPHZMr6sqkp38moFxoCy_gQAvD_BwE
