The Trailgater - The best tailgate table?? Made in USA

SO... I've been searching for a tailgate table for the Bronco for longer than I care to admit. And to be honest I just wasn't impressed by the dozens of options on Amazon. Especially since most of the tables look to be the same identical table that just been rebranded several different times.

But I found one I like!! This past weekend I installed the Trailgater by Outback Adventure Products.

I won't lie—it's expensive. But it's made in good ol' USA and very high quality. I did have trouble installing it—which you'll see in the video if you watch it—but other than small install annoyance, it's awesome.

(And this is the part where a bunch of people point out all of the other awesome tailgate table options I missed.)

Thanks for serving me up a healthy portion of buyer's remorse.

Nice work, Bryan. I like your “git ‘r done” attitude. It seems even the simplest mods can present unique hiccups. It’s a sharp-looking table.

Not going to lie, I expected it to be a short 30 minute job. Turned into a 3 hour job.

BUT, all things considered, it was a fairly easy fix. Still wondering if I did something wrong or not. Or maybe IKEA changed the design slightly. Or perhaps their hardware vendor sent them the wrong length screws. Who knows.

I put this table in my BRONCO a year ago. I had zero problems installing it. It is a great product!

Really like this table, but not sure it will clear a factory pull out tail gate. Has anyone tried to install one with a factory pull out tail gate????

As stated, these are most definitely the best fold down tables for the Bronco. Yes they will cost you more, but it is well worth it!

Can you tell me why you like this one over the JCROFFROAD table? I'm looking for a table. They all seem to be very expensive, that's why I haven't bought one yet.

Admittedly I put more hours into researching tailgate tables than I'd like to admit. Part of the reason why is because I felt like I should be able to find a really awesome table for $200. I mean, it’s just a table right? How expensive can a table be?? Turns out pretty expensive, but I'll explain my thought process:

The cheaper tables in the $80 - $200 range had very mixed reviews. Some were good... until they got off-road and it started rattling all over the place. Some required drilling, which was a no-go for me. Some seemed okay but were sold by a no-name Amazon-only company that I didn't want to do with. Others were just really bad or blatant copies of other tables (like the official Ford table). It was just all over the place.

Then there were a handful of options around the $280 - $350 range. I wasn't particularly happy with any of them. Bronco Nation, for example, has the Rock Slide Engineering table available on the gear store with a discount. But to be brutally honest—the weird star design on the side of the table is just straight up stupid looking, and the table requires drilling for installation. Meanwhile the IAG table looked like rebranded versions of the tables off of Amazon, but with an extra $100 tacked on to the price 👎 .

The JCR one was really close, but wasn't quite there. I read several reviews on Bronco6G where the table developed a rattle over time. Some said they just had to go back tighten everything and it went away, others said they couldn't solve the issue without buying rubber feet from IKEA and other places online. And yet some were really happy with the table and had no issues. For me... the JCR table has a smaller working surface overall, and didn't have the slide-out cutting board. Installation is also a LOT more complicated as you have to remove the spare tire, spare tire bracket, and all of the trim pieces. The MOLLE grid is cool, but I couldn't think of what I would ever use it for. So I just wasn't getting warm fuzzy feelings about it, and when you're spending that kind of money on a table, kinda need those warm fuzzy feelings.

So then it went into the expensive tables—$400+. Two tables I could find all the way up here... one is the Goose Gear table, and the other was the Trailgater. The Goose Gear table required drilling and was also the most expensive option... so disqualified. Meanwhile the Trailgater got glowing reviews from both the Jeep community and Bronco community online. The only downside I heard from anyone who bought it is "yeah... it's expensive, but still awesome". So the Trailgater won.

I'm extremely happy with it. Am I proud that I managed to spend nearly $500 on a simple tailgate table?? No, definitely not. But I am extremely happy with it.

Is that the silver table??

I was going back and forth between silver and gray.

I purchased this table as well (in black). It was easy to install and what I really like is that the bamboo table piece slides right or left and can be slid all the way out for easy cleaning. Another thing that I liked is that the arms that stop the table at 90 degrees are compact so they don't get in the way with things that overhang the table a little. Yes this is expensive, but worth it in my opinion.

I have this table as well, and have had it for almost a year now. To mimic the majority of opinions, yes, it's expensive. Absolutely more than I wanted to spend, but worth every penny(admittingly, not knowing if it would be worth the cost before purchasing) . The construction and fit and finish is awesome, installation was straightforward and can be done with one person, and I've had close to 100lbs on it with no issues. It was also important for me to find a table to that had a flat table top, and the extra pull-out extension is great too.

This is no lightweight table, it's heavy (for a table), so if you're trying to be conscious of weight (possibly for overlanding), this may not be the right table for you. I also haven't used the magnetic strip as much as I thought I would. All-around a fantastic table and one of the best purchases I've made for the Bronco.
