Ford Pro Cal tuner work on 2024?

If I remember correctly the manufacturers have to resubmit every year for product certifications. It may take a little bit for them to push out the latest products.

I guess I have to wait? If I order the 2023 will it update and work on a 2024 or will it just not install?

Yeah, you'll have to wait unfortunately.

The ProCal4 itself will work, but you won't be able to download the performance configuration. Part of the process requires backing up your existing vehicle's configuration and validating the VIN online through Ford's servers. Until Ford releases the 2024 tune it'll simply just fail the validation piece and won't let you proceed.

Usually keen-eyed viewers on the forums will notice and make a post about it. Or Bronco Nation themselves will write an article about it and stick it in the front page.

Based on past years… it should be available late spring-ish.

Thanks again and I will just patiently wait. Ordered the high clearance FlowMaster exhaust for now.

For 2023MY, production started November 2022 with the tune becoming available mid-spring.

2024MY production started January 2024... so you probably another month or two left before the tune is available—assuming it follows a similar timeline.

But I'm just making stuff up at this point. 😁

So the dealer wants 2-3 hours to install at $209 per hour. Seems crazy high. Thoughts? The part has arrived and I may flash it myself. Not hard but the threat of warranty issues seems illegal.

Two hours seems to be what most people are getting quoted based on my admittedly fairly passive observation. Labor rates vary widely based on where you live in the country, so it's hard to give advice there. $209 is higher than my local dealer, but in other areas of the country it may be perfectly normal. Keep in mind that you can shop around to other dealers, or even other mechanics shops. It doesn't need to be installed by a dealership to retain the warranty, the technician just has to be ASE certified (or RSE for those Canadians).

Also note that if you choose to do it yourself it doesn't automatically invalidate your entire factory warranty—it still remains in effect. It only may become a concern if the future issue you are experiencing is caused by or related to the tune.

Thanks and wish this unit showed torque and HP. My Vance and Hines version on my Harley shows both so you can check results when you parts. If you change your exhaust you can see the increase or decrease. Probably not as precise as dyno but close I bet.

Well installed over lunch and the butt dyno says it rips!! The down shift matching rpm will take a minute but very cool. Besides the power it sounds like it’s sucking in tons of air and sounds cool. I think a blow off valve would be interesting. I have a muffler delete and now it just sounds crazy and you get a tiny decel pop but I don’t mind it. Very impressed by this little 2.3.
