Floor liners for washout floors?

My in-laws bought me a gift cert for weather tech that I figured I would use for floor liners. The site however says only they cut to fit liners work with the Black Diamonds. I assume this is due to the washout floors and the grip pegs o their liners not interacting well. Has anyone come across this issue and know more about it? Figure I will use the gift cert to get a cargo area tray instead, but do you need/want floor liners with the washout floors? If so, can anyone recommend some that are "compatible" with the wash-out floors in Black Diamonds?

I’m using the cheap carpeted mats that came with my 2dr. Left them out for the first week but discovered that if your shoes are wet the washout floor is very slick.

You definitely don’t need floor liners/mats on the washout floors but I got them anyway. It’s much easier to take out a liner and clean it than to crawl inside of the vehicle to clean it.

I used Ford’s official liners from their accessory website. Fit is great:

Floor liner
Cargo liner

Bought everything with FordPass points so it was free.

I bought the Ford floor liners for my 2dr Black Diamond. They fit nice, look great, are lightweight and protect the rubber flooring.
I don’t know what else anyone would want?

My Ford dealership adds weather tech floor liners to all of their vehicles. So I have them for my Everglades with the washout floor. They fit just fine, they have little snaps that lock them into position using the factory floor mat attachment points.
They also make a really cool bug guard/ hood protector my cousin has it on his explorer they might have it for the Bronco I haven’t checked.

I went with Husky liners in my Badlands. They fit really well and are deep so all the snow that melts does not go over the top.

Isn't this akin to putting a rug on top of carpet? Isn't the washout floor... the floor liner?
That is kind of what I was wondering. The fact the weather tech store says not to use their higher tier liners on BD with wash out floors makes me also wonder if they would damage the floor if you ignored them.

I have used all of the above listed products in previous vehicles and all are excellent products. I have gotten the laser cut/fit versions. The Husky and WT are excellent quality and one of those two must make the Ford ones. They are also excellent quality, fit and finish.

I have the carpet mats in the front seat down over the MGV. My friend dumped coffee in his Bronco the other week, and the amount that soaked through to in between the floor pan and the MGV was disappointing. I like the carpet on top or an additional mat like the guys have said to make cleaning the MGV easier and maybe not seeing so much moisture underneath it.

I ordered the Weathertek and am quite happy with them. As Jakob1972 reports, above, they have a decently high edging and contain water, mud, and debris very well. They were heavily soiled with clay-like mud in Utah, and it took a lot of powerwashing to get that off, plus stiff-bristle brushing when I got home, but they returned to their original graphite-gray color.

If you decide to go with another brand, or simply without, check the Weathertek site. They make all sorts of accessories you can use your gift card on.

Reading way too many forums today on this topic. Seems the reason weather tech doesn't offer the matt for the black diamond is due to the washout floor. Something to do with the carpet cleats not working or causing issues with them. I can't find the post now for some reason, but it does explain why Ford has the two versions and the rubber floor version has no cleats.

I live in the woods on a river. Everything is dirt, rock, gravel and dead leaves and debris. There is no way not to leave dirty foot prints in any of my cars.

I was sort of perplexed why Ford included the carpeted floor mats for the BD aand thought the dealer gave hem to me as a gift -lol.

Like you, I left them out for a week, then said to myself, "WTF I'll try 'em". The carpet floor mats are great. They vacuum clean in 2 seconds and do not hold dirt or stains. And no gritty crap under my boots all the time. Probably cheap to replace if ever the time comes.
Pretty sure the BD does not include any floor liners. I added the non-carpet ones to my build for '22, so I think dealer did give to you unless you have a '23 and they added them as standard for that model year? I just checked the website....floor liners are $160 add on so either you paid for them or you got a pretty sweet gift from dealer.

Idk mine is a 22 black diamond 2 door and it came with the factory carpet mats for the front. Just checked and mats was not listed on my order sheet or window sticker. They were wrapped in plastic in the back with the roof panel bag, doubt my dealer added it since I picked it up the day after it was delivered. Maybe the factory was not paying attention to which units were supposed to get them.

I did not pay for them, of that I am sure. The mats are not listed on the window sticker. Ford does not have a P/N in the accessories catalog. Internet search shows numerous BD owners got the carpeted floor mats.

Bonus.
Interesting…I know mine didn’t come with them so I mulled it over for awhile since I had to wait almost 1.5 for it to be built and decided to tell dealer to add the floor mats to my order. Should be getting my bronco any day/week now so I will take a look and see if I was charged but B&P most definitely says it is a $160 add on for the Ford ones with your build.

My wife got me the Husky floor liners for my Badlands for Christmas (per my request). I prefer just being able to pull the mats out and hose them off versus bringing the hose to the Bronco and cautiously try to hose it out and direct all the mud and muck to the drain hole - it needs to be done on a flat surface (my driveway is sloped, so I need to put the bronco in the street to do this process) ... it's MUCH easier to just pull the mat out, hit it with the pressure washer and towel dry it - literally takes 2 minutes. The husky liners fit great and look factory.

I agree. My BL with the washout floors came with carpeted fronts that snap in and carpeted rear ones that slide all over. Not sure which ones I will order, but if the fronts snap into place that is great. And if they don’t I will put some Velcro on the bottoms to hold them in place, for both the front and second row. Easy peasey.

2021 Black Diamond came with 2 cheap carpeted front mats.

The reason you need mats on top.of the Rubber Washout Floors , is you WILL EVENTUALLY wear a hole into that flooring. Most XL model trucks come with rubber/vinyl flooring. After 50-75k miles, depending on what shoes or boots you wear... your gas heel, will wear a hole in that area. I highly recommend some type of protection.

I have heard that the washout floor is pretty easy to tear so I bought the Ford ones for my Badlands during the order process. Also got the cargo liner from Ford. It will be a lot easier to clean taking the liners out and not hosing out the floor. I mainly got the wash out floor for dog hair! You can never get it all out of the carpet without losing hours in your day!
