Anyone plum in an aftermarket intercooler on the 2.7 yet? I say an install video on youtube yesterday for one of the Whipple intercoolers.

Any first hand experience with these? Did it make a noticeable difference?

I had not considered doing much with the drive train on the truck beyond a mild exhaust. I have not played about with turbo vehicles much in the past, so was curious what folks thoughts were on these. Lethal Performance claims big numbers, but thats with both the whipple tune and the intercooler.

There's always Mishimoto, they're working on Charge pipes as well for it:

2.7 Charge Pipes
Stock Location Intercooler
A REAL Cold Air Intake, not that lid and filter BS from Roush

I have the Whipple Stage 1 complete kit. I haven't had time to install the intercooler but, I can tell you that just the tune and filter have made a big difference in drivability and power. I can't wait to try it with the intercooler.

I got a CP-E intercooler and Mishi charge pipes along with a Volant CAI.

Definitely day and night difference, plus the clutch spring also makes things better.

Did you go steeda spring?

As far as intercoolers, I'm thinking of going mishimoto for my 2.3L with the ford performance tune next year

Yeah, basically all set for the inevitable ecu crack when tuners figure it out and go beyond the Ford tune performance

CP-E with Mishi charge pipes, works wonders
