Aftermarket Air Filters? What did you choose?

Hey fellow Bronco enthusiasts! Just wondering how many of you have went with an aftermarket air filter and if so what filter did you go with? I just ordered the Whipple filter for mine. I liked the fact it had the velocity stack on it, for more airflow and surface area. The other filters I have looked at K&N, Afe, BMC did not have the velocity stack with the extra surface area the tops are closed off. The only other filters I saw with the velocity stack was the S&B but they were out of stock. So have you upgraded you air filter or stuck with the paper oem?

I'm interested the results you're getting by adding that sock. Doesn't that restrict the airflow? Thus reducing the efficacy of the K&N?

Yeah understand, but don't think so. Seems to perform about the same as our other 'sock-less' installs. K&N sell these wraps too. They have a silicon coating to help repel water as well as particulates. They're a sheer/see-thru material, described a max airflow.

I am curios. Does anyone look at efficiency rating for these high flow filters? Because high flow doesn't mean good for the engine.
WIX WA11099 has efficiency of %99.5
K&N E-0634 only has %99
The Whipple filter doesn't even bother listing it on their website.
S&B manufactures for Whipple and they don't list it ether.

From 1 kg of dust a %99 will allow 10g of dust. %99.5 will allow half that, 5g. That's double the amount of dust going into your intake...

I use WIX filters. I buy them and take to the dealer when they change the oil. They deduct it off my price. Other great thing my dealer has an add in our church paper every week for $10 bucks off oil changes. I told them H _ _ _ will freeze over before I run out of them. They laughed and thanked me for the business. I do the cabin and air filters on my own. Change the air twice a year, same with cabin.
