You can fit two of these:

Into here:

And save yourself $300 dollars, not clutter up your engine/door/storage, AND have clean air going into your compressor.

They even sell you a relay and wiring for free with these!

With a little gumption you can even take that hard earned cash you saved and put two of these in:

Thanks, for almost a quarter of the price for a portable dual ARB, this is likely what I will get.

With my previous truck, I was using one of the Napa compressors (similar to the Trickflate unit) - Excellent compressor for the price, and very fast.. but I ponied up the ~$700 for the Bronco, to install the under hood ARB twin kit from @4x4TruckLEDs.com when it was on sale one weekend, and every time I use it, I'm glad I made the investment. don't have to carry around the compressor any more, or worry that the cheap build quality will cause a failure when I need it most. I use it in conjunction with the Morrflate 4 way tire inflation kit, and it's amazing - all 4 35" tires back up to 36psi in 8-9 minutes. Sometimes at the end of a long drive, depending on the weather (especially if it's cold, snowing or raining), you wanna just get home. The convenience and confidence in knowing I have a high quality product was definitely worth the money in my opinion. Granted, I end up using it probably twice a month, so maybe I use it more than others.. if you only use it once every couple months, it might not be worth spending the money for the ARB.

With all your “off roading” adventures that you’ve done and the future one’s that are coming, your choice for the ARB is the way to go!

This is the best solution on the market.

ARB Under hood mount
This is the solution I utilized for my rig. Definitely not cheap but for me it was worth it. Doesn’t clutter up the engine bay at all and was a straight forward install. Wired to Aux #6 and have a quad inflate/deflate from Morflate. Was gonna build one but the cost of all the materials went up in price so much that it was cheaper to purchase the Morflate.

I also used the KR mounting bracket also.
I am attaching several photos from the compressor to the battery and to the upfitter switch wires.

I will say, that tailgate mount for the ARB looks awesome. I just can’t bring myself to spend that much on a compressor setup tho….nearly $400 for the mount and at least another $500 for an ARB just seems to steep in my opinion. Like @Calgecko said, if you use it a lot then maybe it’s worth it, but I definitely wouldn’t use it enough to justify that cost. Would rather buy one of the couple hundred dollar compressors, toss it in the back and spend the rest of the money on other mods.

My big fear of the under the hood mounts is, how does the extra heat affect the longevity of the compressor? I know they are made for it but that is a lot of heat under there.

I have an ARB single under the hood. It takes me all of 10-12 minutes to inflate my 35's from 15 to 35 psi. More than sufficient for me.
Which mount did you go with? Easy install? Did you wire to AUX switch? I'm thinking this is the one for me as well on the 2DR, 2.7L. Space is at a premium.

I've installed the K&N Cold Air Intake Box. Any known issues with fitment?

Take a look at this video. Appears to have the same footprint as the stock air box.

I went with the ThorsLightningAirSystems (Colorado), which uses their own variant of the NAPA 300cfm. Elias Brown, the owner, told me personally they've configured a way so that the powerful output does not create excessive wear on the pump. Guess I'll know if that's true in a few years. But it's incredibly fast--just a few minutes for 4/ 35s to go from 20->40. I'll be using it plenty this weekend and will get some careful, objective times.

The mount is their "Refuge" molle cage, which goes over the right rear wheel well of the 4Dr (only), using the hardtop install bolts, thus no drilling. My installer also put in a 500A remote cutoff, so I can control it from outside the cargo bay, no reaching through the moll cage for the switch.

If anybody in eastern Massachusetts is looking for an install tech, message me for his contact info, he's great.

$670, with molle cage. Sale "better than 10%," Elias says, coming Memorial Day.

So I don’t have my Bronco yet, still waiting 1.5 years. I have been accumulating items and got the ARB dual and mount on Black Friday at a great savings. I found through the years you get what you pay for. I’ve cut corners on some things, and paid more after they failed. I’m looking forward to using it soon.

It's for the 4DR hardtop only, as it utilizes the side bolts that secure the hard top. What with my TrailRax, I figure my hard-top rear section is on forever, as the PackRax is secured with those bolts also. I was wheeling Sat and Sun with a few others on the Ma Bell trail in Northampton, Ma. We were kind of sloppy on our timing, but we got several rigs with 35s from 20 to 25 psi up to 36-40 in under 4 minutes with Thor's 4-way hose. Very happy with it.

Edit: looking over their descriptive material, their "Refuge" molle cage mount can accommodate the ARB compressor, but needs an adaptive plate of some kind.

Edit #2: After running the ThorsLightning system a few more times I found I inflated my stock Sas Goodyear 35s from 25 psi to 39 in 4.5 minutes.

Running a Cape Cod Beach (Baja mode @55mph, don't tell the Park Rangers!), I inflated 4 tires from 12 psi to 17 psi in 1 minute; up to 22 psi in 2 minutes; 30 psi in three minutes; 34 psi in four minutes; and 39.8 in 6 minutes.
After about 5 miles, the dash readout gave me 38 psi on my two left tires and 40 psi on my two right, then settled down to 39 psi +/- 1 pound.

I have the Grimm and love it. I wired it to run off my aux 6. Also ran braded hose to back bumper and mounted next to hitch to connect air hose.
Any chance you have a parts list? Particularly, the braided hose you used? I have the Grimm and would also like to put the connector back there.
