Just wondering who has installed these, and would you do it again? They have been around for a while, so not sure if there are newer, better options for the $$? But I don’t want to overthink it either :).

I do have the OEM acc switches, so hope it’s an easy install. And I’m not too picky, other than prefer a round light over square and kind of like the Ford Performance covers. Thoughts?

I don't have those installed, went with some cheap Amazon knockoffs. Then again, I don't have a need for mine, so anything up there would work for me. Only thing I can add to that mix is, have you checked out DD or BD? I've seen those in the 4x4 shop and they are bright as hell! Also, being old like I am, I'd look at KC to see what they offer. But from what I've read, people seem to like Rigid as well.

As for the install with the switches, couldn't be easier!

I haveFORD performance ones. Installation took all of an hour and a half and the acc switch wiring is EASY. I think my instructions had it wiring to the switch #1, which is a 60 amp or such, and I went with switch #6 as the ampacity was more suited with the current draw for the pod lights. On difficulty scale, I would say a 3 out of 10.

I have them installed and they work great. Are there better options, possibly. I got them using Ford points so it was a no brainer and never really looked at anything else. I mounted them on the JCR ditch light plates (https://www.jcroffroad.com/product/BR6-DLM.html) because I've heard that they won't stay aimed correctly when mounted like pictured. They tend to rotate.

Same here switch 6. I also put adhesive sided black felt on base of lights to protect mounting areas.
What’s not to like. And yes the Ford Performance covers are cool, some states require you to have them for the road.

I have these Diode Dynamics lights installed.
https://www.4x4truckleds.com/diode-dynamics-stage-series-ss3-ditch-light-kit-for-2021-ford-bronco/
I optioned them with amber backlights & the combo pattern at the sport power level.
$240 (you don't need the KR brackets - they come with the bracket that is pictured)
Install is very, very simple to an aux switch.
Has a plug/play harness included.
I can't remember how they recommend the backlight be wired, because I just spliced that line into something else that was already on a fuse tap (the light up BRONCO letters)
I've been very happy with that site - I broke a bolt installing these & he mailed me a free hardware kit the next day.
Great customer service.

Edit - just saw the OP said they prefer round lights.
Diode does offer SS3 lights in round, the same site has them - I'm not sure if you can purchase the wire harness from 4x4truckleds separate from this kit or not, but if you can, it would probably install the same.
I ordered "generic" non Bronco specific SS3 square lights like this for fog lights & reverse lights & they mount the same & have the same connections, so I imagine the round SS3 lights would as well.

Not really. It's just kind of resting against them, but it's not really bent.
And I'm gonna get rid of it anyways when I feel like getting a stubby or a delete - I use spotify on android auto exclusively lol

Got it. I kinda like the whip antenna. Tried the stubby on my Mustang, thought it looked dorky.
Maybe better on Bronco?

idk. I had a bullet one on my Super Duty & my F150. If I'd have been thinking, I'd have swapped it right on the lot when I traded my F150 in lol.

I went with some cheaper ones off Amazon, but they look great (square not round). I installed the left one to sw5 and the right one to sw6 so I could turn them on independently. Install is quite simple as others have mentioned.

I have seen good comments on Diode, good reminder. I will check that out before final choice.
Agree, the KC lights are nostalgic, but not sure that fits with the mirror mount look…

Interesting comment, I had not heard that they tend to rotate. Those are nice looking mounts, but drive up the project price a bit.

On the subject of placement, most pics show these pointing pretty much straight forward, but isn’t the idea of “ditch lights” to point outward a little? Not sure if there are guidelines for that, or just preference.

It depends on how you're going to use them. I aimed mine so the pick up just at the edge of my headlight pattern. I flip them on a lot at night when driving on road to watch for deer & just turn them off when traffic is coming.

If you want a pure ditch light, you'd aim them more to the side.

If you want to get really wild, there's two mounting points on each side - Do both!

I believe it was @SlashRacer that mentioned to me that he couldn't tighten them down enough and then they would rotate.

I would also endorse @4x4TruckLEDs.com as a great place to buy lights. My bumper lights were bought through them and the lense frame on both my fog lights started to flake the coating. They had no issues sending me new frames. Must have been a bad batch because the frames on my spot lights looked brand great that were sitting right next to the fogs.

The backlight option is cool, you wired that to come on with normal headlights? And you feel like the sport edition of the light is bright enough? The price really escalates with the brighter options it looks like…

The backlight is very cool I think.

I have the backlight wired as an always on I believe. I just spliced that wire to the wiring for the Bronco letters & they're on a fuse tap so if the vehicle is on, they're on.

You could easily wire the backlight to a separate AUX switch or to a headlight or DRL light if you wanted it to be automatic with either of those.

Yeah the sport was good enough for me.
Like I said, I use them for deer watching mostly & got the combo pattern so they would shine kinda decently out & flood around.
I can try to get some pictures later tonight to show you the effect.

We like our 'mirror' aka A-Pillar 4" Round Rigid 360 lights. These came for Speciality Performance that includes Rigid mount and SPV's fine wiring harness. SPV's John Trischler does an excellent job wiring his light kits to Ford's with backlighting activated with vehicle lock/unlock triggers, etc.

I really like the round light's on the Bronco. I added the same Rigid 360 but in the 6" version. Wired to aux 1 for the main light, and aux 2 for the back light. Also used Grimm off-road for the mounting brackets. Very happy with them.

I mounted mine with just a slight cant. They have a fairly wide projection. Yep you can spin them if you wish.

I haven’t gone in the ditch yet…
