Bikini or Safari

I just got a 23 bronco and I have been looking for a Bikini or Safari top that actually seals up to the windshield frame. So everything I have found has a gap between the "top" and windshield.

Here are some examples in other vehicles

Thanks Dan, appreciate all the info. Sounds like it is exactly what I'm looking for !

I have 2-doors in stock and will have some 4-doors ready later this week or next week. :)

Thanks, yep... I make them and sell them, 155 sold so far.

I'm on version 4.0 now which closes the front gap, is 100-mph rated and installs in under 3 minutes (168 seconds), as well as some other simple fancy additions.

A bunch of video's on my site, that show how water proof they are and also driving in the rain (with version 3.0).
20 colors to choose from.

Feel free to reach out to me and toss me an email on the website and i'll give you a call

I've tought about fully sealing the front but I'd have to partner with a machine shop to CNC a bracket, for full closure.
The reason this works for jeeps is that they have a gap between the windshield and front bar. Additionally on the sides they do not have the machined metal plates so their biminis can hug and roll around the roll cage, w/o any sharp edges like the bronco has. I have lots of ideas in my head but the costs to mfg those and get them shipped would defeat the purpose of a quick waterproof bimini like we already have.

This video shows how close we have the gap at the front best: anywho, i'm free to chat if you have any questions dan @ broncobikini.com

I would be super intrested in a bracket that hugs up the windshield frame. The big issue I see with the current offereings that don't seal up to the windshield frame. I like to take the tops off when I go wheeling to keep the top out of harms way. The trails I run are supper tight so going up a rock can throw into a tree on the back corners very easily. I took my windows out of my eb last wheeling trip but left the top on and of cours the rear bow slide across a tree. Took like 3 hours to get the dang thing straight again :(. But then it always rains so your slowly crawling (<3mph) through downpours. So with a gap between the top and windshield you will get a steady stream on water running right on to the dash. I know on the jeeps they will short out with water running overt the electronics, the screens most importantly, and haveing been under the dash of the bronco I would assume it would be the same.

I have been loooking for a factory soft top to basically cut up and use the header and top part. Then sew some straps to it to hold it down. I basically do the same thing currently with my Tj and EB. We take the soft top off completly then unroll the Bikini top from the header slap it on the windsheild frame fasten the buckles inside the cab and strap the back straps to the roll bar or in the bed and your on your way.

Yeah, I hear you. I have access to a water jet and CNC but building something and making it affordable is impossible with some custom made parts like that.

I think you're on the right track with finding a beat up soft top and repurposing it.

I'm trying to keep these well below the cost of the retail shops. My margin is about $47 on each.

So far hadn't had much luck on that idea yet, but we will see.

Teaser !! BroncoBikini.com is releasing a Topless Roof Rack this next week.

We couldnt justify paying $800 for roof racks, that's just unfair to all, so we made some for the average Joe.

Which also integrates with a Bronco Bikini top !

I will have 8 set's ready and they will be either RAW, so you can paint or coat the color of your choice or BEDLINED for rugged and ready to go use.

The Topless roof Racks are tool-less, no tools needed to install.
They install and remove in < 60 seconds and have integrated Stainless Steel tie downs.
Quickly remove and toss under your rear seats or in the back of your bronco!

They are primarily for paddle-boards, kyacks, surfboards and other lightweight items you wish to transport on your bronco.

Prototype image here: (ready for sale at end of February)

Introductory price will be in the ~220 range with free shipping
(PS. shipping is killing me ~$35 for the long boxes, so if anyone has shipping hacks, please let us know!)

This can be kept on, under your roof, however extends the full length.
So you can run it with just the front sections off.

I have considered just doing a "cockpit bimini" but worried about the width of the bimin as there would not be a center mount point. I may mess around with a design this spring ... we'll see. -Dan

Dan,

Still thinking of trying to do a "cockpit bimini" ?

Not right now, we are pretty busy with the full bimini's and likely wont get to a cockpit version until Summer.

Got mine slapped on my 2dr the other day.. Straight forward, easy install.. No flapping at 70..

The main test for me will be rain. As long as the front electronics are protected, they don't get wet and I don't get a stream of water flowing down onto them then it's a win for my use.

If you are not worried about rain then this is a already def win as it does not flap, flap, flap at highway speeds like every other bikini I've tried on my previous Jeeps..

I'll update my rain, rain and more rain thoughts later after it gets hammered with the stuff..

You drive too slow, take it to 100 ! (j/k) Glad you can confirm the no flapping and quietness of my bimini.

For the rain test, keep a bailing cup with you
Yes, it will stop the rain, but then you gotta deal with the post duck pond :)

PHOTO NOTES:
- a customer parked his bronco and went to dinner and came back to find a rainstorm rolled through
- below is older version 3.x which had a gap at front. We fixed the gap with version 4.
- below also used older hardware, new hardware is 5mm and with aluminum clips
- This proves the effectiveness of the bimini :)

Old version vs 4.x photo shown below too

That's to be expected and I am not worried about the puddle. My only worry is the front gap where all the electronics are.. I am sure it will be fine and since I live in the PNW, I will def get plenty of chances to see how it does in wet stuff as we get a metric crap ton of it.. 😭

Forecast says the end of this week it shall rain for 7 days straight days...

Nice!!!!! No serious rain here yet but that looks awesome! That's a lot drier than I would have thought and my Jeep would get far more wet than that with it's Bikini on..

Thanks for the video!

Oh and for those worried about the puddle shown in post #36 you could always pick up a collapsible boat cover pole for use when you know you'll be parked for a while in the wet stuff..

Something cheap like this would do the trick. I had one in my Jeep that I used a few times and it worked great..

Boat Cover Pole

Or just search for a 'boat cover adjustable height pole'
