This past weekend I installed the RCI skid plates I ordered back in December and received in late January.

Along the way I thought I had lost the bolt kit for the engine skids, and found I had an extra part that wasn't referenced in any of the instructions because there were new instructions that I didn't know about. (they were not updated in the links on the item that was on my order link)

Now I have the base 2-door Sasquatch with plastic front and rear bumpers (I haven't replaced them yet).

I followed the instructions to install the transfer case skid first. One difference from the instructions is that the extra support on that skid needs to bolt with the fuel tank strap. The instructions indicate you can mount the bracket in two positions on the strap, but the reality is on the 22 model year I had, there is only one place you can actually install it.

Definitely keep the transmission skid loose when installing the engine skids. They must fit close together, and the transmission skid can move easier than the engine one. I measured at the lowest part of the skids about 11" of clearance.

As of today, I'm heading towards three weeks of being able to keep the roof off.

Nice. I got the same one's, but just the front skid to replace the plastic crap that was under there. I went with the 1/4" aluminum raw metal one's.

Nice looking Bronco there, though I might be a bit biased. Really good to read that you will be having some great weather, allowing you to get the roof off for an extended period of time.
I would suggest that you take the doors off too. Might as well dive right into the deep end of enjoying your Bronco.

I don't have a place to store the doors, so I left them on. The roof is back on now, with thunderstorms coming up at random later this week. I'm building a deck, and my garage is currently full of related things. I hope the August weather allows everything to be off when I have more room in the garage.

No question that having room to store the doors is key. It sounds like you might be able to enjoy the "naked" Bronco come August. I will keep my fingers crossed for you that you garage will have the room to store them come August. It is a very unique experience, and one that once you try it, you will definitely want to do it again! Have fun with your Bronco.
