(fixed a typo so deleted my other post)

Well, I decided to test version 4.0/4.2 of our bimini top in the rain, and I may have gotten carried away as did it for 52 miles. !!!

Proof here :

We produce monthly so pre-order if you want one, as they go fast.
We don't market and just sell by word of mouth.
So far 205 very happy customers with zero issues !!

And as always we are selling the bimini that we took the video with. It was used once and only once for this video.
It is the last 4-door we have in stock and is in the SeaGull color and we are selling it for a discount
. ** SOLD **

Thanks all!

Pretty nice! How was the backend, that area is more exposed, but no windows do not help, lol. 😁

Fast forward to the end of the video, it is NOT bad at all. I pull into my garage and imediatly film the interior of the bronco including the back. It's basically dry !

I did stop at mile 25 for about 10 minutes, that is why you see the back cover wet 1/2 through the video. @ 2:16

@ video 5:16 i show the back interior, this is all it had after 52 miles!

Went and ran some errands earlier and while it was not a downpour, it rained, at lets say, a medium level for a while. While moving everything was a-ok. When stopped at a light my left arm would get a little wet from rain drops (not a big deal and expected) due to the gap. If there had been someone in the pass seat, I assume their right arm would have gotten wet as well. Again, this was totally expected by me and not an issue.

I was inside a store for about 10 minutes and when I came out there was no real pooling on the top. Of course this is dependent on how hard it's raining and how long you leave it sit for.

The rear seats were wet, the driver and pass side seat had some minor water on them to where my rear end got wet when I sat in the driver seat. Again, totally expected and not an issue.. This may or may not happen to you depending on how the rain is falling and the position of the Bronco, My windows were rolled up FWIW and there was water on both door panels. Again, not a big deal and expected due to the gap on the sides. The rear cargo area had some water build up but since there is nothing back there covering it, that's to be expected..

Not a single drop of water on the dash / electronics area of the dash! This is a massive win for me as that was really all I was personally worried about.

I do not care if the interior gets semi-wet as I have the vinyl seats and rubberized flooring.. I also carry a few shop type towels in a plastic bag under the pass side seat for quick wipe downs. I ran with a Bikini top on my Jeep in wet weather for years and I just pull the drain plugs if things get out of hand.. LOL

I have the 2dr version of the Bikini. Oh, and still no flapping a freeway speeds. I think I hit 75mph today..

I am an odd use case but I think for most people the use case would be you are out and about and a quick storm or rain shower moves in. You just want protection until you get where you are going without getting soaked. With a mesh bikini, you are gonna get soaked so bring some body wash or shampoo and just turn it into a shower opportunity.. With this bikini, your arm might get a few rain drops on it but you'll be more than protected from the brunt of the wet stuff..

I do need to test it more in the wet stuff but I'll call today's wet weather ride a win..

I very appreciate your review and write up!

It's good for a customer to confirm from their end, and even better with a 2-door vs the 4-door that I shot the video with.

As far as the back of my bronco goes, I just got a rear cargo cover from amazon that was $70
This is the one i got and very happy with it: Amazon 4-door cargo cover

I assume the cover would work for 2 door...maybe as it's a roll up cover so you just pull it out less ???

Anywho, I was totally surprised with how well the bimini performed, it was beyond what I had originally expected.

You should make rear cargo covers using your bungie system....

Kinda like this but Bronco specific for the 4dr and 2dr...

I don't think there is anything that would work for me as I have a power tank in the rear that pokes up above the possible mounting areas. I am not worried about it as if it gets flooded, I'll pull the drain plug.

We thought about this and also made a prototype last year. The problem is the shape of the cargo area and how the tie down points are situated and the taper of the back area. Yes we could do it, yet it was not cost effective as we like to come to market lean on price. What is already out there with the retractable models at ~ $70 will beat us every time. Our shop rate is $75/hr then add the fabric, grommets and hardware and we have a product that is double the price of what is out there with little to no margin. Additionally w/o having a forward hard mount with the way the wind flows in the cabin it will flap. We talked about a hard mounted system but currently the bolt down points are very difficult again with how the rear section tapers and the roll bars intersect.

So a few more days of rolling about in the rain and my results are pretty much the same as post #3..

Some water on arm when stopped at a light, water on door panels, slight amount of water on back seats and water in the cargo area.. Zero water on the dash / electronics area of the Bronco.

Also, still no flapping on freeway.

If anything changes, I'll update here as I don't see the need to continue to update when everything stays as already described..

It's an awesome Bikini if you don't want to get soaked when topless and an unexpected rain storm rolls through or if you just don't want the flap, flap, and flap some more when on the freeway that you'll get from most of the other Bikini's out there...
