The reason we purchased the Bronco Sport is because of the lower roof line than our future Broncos. This would be beneficial to allow Jill to assist in the loading process despite not having her complete strength back as it was pre-cancer. As we become more active and add/change racks for new and future gear we need to look into what might make this process a little easier. This will also be essential for the loading of the overlanding gear for the Broncos we have coming due to the added height of the roofline.

While the Bronco Sport does have a lower roof height for ease of loading and unloading gear, securing that gear to the racks became the next hurtle. After loading the paddle board and getting the racks on and off, we noticed that we would have to go around the other side of the vehicle. Although stepping on the tire was sufficient height for the rear, the problem lies with the front. Stepping on the door sill proved to be just too low to reach the straps to secure the items. We looked at a couple door jam steps and secured on the door latch and picked our top 2 choices.

In this video we review these 2 door jam steps to see which one is best for us.

Great video, I didn't know they even made something like this. Going to be really helpful when detailing roof. Thanks!

Thanks for the review! They will definitely come in handy for anyone getting the roof rack on the sport as well as the standard Bronco. I was wondering if they worked on the back doors. I know some rear door openings have a funky curve to them and didn't know exactly where the metal loop was.
