My 96 Bronco had an engine failure. I've been looking for a replacement and can seem to find engines, but not a 96. One of the local wrecking yards has a good running 93 5.8 they'll let go for $900. I'm hearing it isn't as simple as installing it and putting on the 96 externals. So my question is this:

What exactly do I have to do to a 93 to put it in my Bronco and get this thing back on the road?

Why not get a long block?

Here is some information to help you find a better replacement engine.

There is a lot of additional information out there. The option to buy a remanufactured short or long block is also an option. And there is always the rebuilt it yourself if you have the time and knowledge.

It's a giant possibility. Looking into a long block but having arguments about it with my wallet lol

Not the end of the world, but keep in mind you should have a roller block and I don't think 93 was.

There's a motor in this beast again. I just have to do the whirly parts, the fuel make it happener parts, and the lightning parts and it will be back on the road
