I have a 96 Bronco XLT with the 5.8 motor. The 5.8 blew up. My buddy said he had an engine I could have. It's a 5.0 out of a 94, or 95 Bronco. Will it bolt up to my transmission? It's the auto with overdrive. If it will bolt up, what do I have to do to the computer and anything else electronic to make it run correctly?

the 5.8 and 5.0 are the same engin family and with the exception of the 5.8 needing more fuel the programing is virtual identical and yes it will be a direct fit to the trans and motor mounts

Good to know. What about the exhaust? I heard the 5.8 is wider than the 5.0 at the y-pipe

Yes the 5.8 is a taller deck height witch makes it wider you will need a 5.0 y pipe you also can have you computer tuned to work with the 5.0
