1991 w/ 5.8, will not restart when hot. Changed started, but same symptom. Very slow turn over on motor. Any suggestions?

Could be a resistance, loose/bad connection or heat soak issue. I would start with the battery cables. Shielding the starter from heat could also help, especially if you are running headers. I had this same problem with my 89 Bronc and also had the 5.8. Would not restart hot but after cooling off would fire right up. I ended up going with a new high torque starter vs reman and changed out the battery cables which seemed to help.
