People there are other broncos besides these mid sized ones ford is trying to produce now.
On to the OP. This is common now that most of these dashes are quite old. The real problem is these screw areas are one of the many mounts for the dash and once they crack they continue to loosen and crack more and the dash gets rattlier and rattlier.
The are caps, but those are just covers. The underlying structure of the dash is breaking and deteriorating.
The plastic used on the dash is really difficult to repair and get a good bond to and at this age tends to be very brittle and stiff. Occasionally, decent dash parts come up on ebay and once in a great awhile someone is selling an entire dash. I wish I grabbed a dash from a junk yard way way back and stored it. Had no idea this would be a problem, but you know 25+ year old vehicles have lots of little things that need addressing. There was a place that most of the interior part available at one time, but I don't think I they ever had dashes listed.
