T-Rex Arms on a 78 Bronco

My 78 Bronco is not a trail rig - it’s more set up for as a street-modded restomod type of build. I do use it for towing so I have not lifted it. If it was a trail Bronco I would have installed the Duff long arms but I don’t really need all the articulation the long arms with heim joints gives you. I did have some front end issues so I decided to install the T-Rex arms which are stock length and use the stock radius arm mounts. I also changed out all of the front end bushings and the shocks at the same time. The T-Rex arms do allow for a greater turning radius due to the bend in their design.

If you’ve changed out the front end bushing before then this will be an easy job - you just substitute in the T-Rex arms when you put it back together!

First, here is the D44 removed and ready for clean up and paint.

The Drivers side arm attached to the axel. Make sure to install the C-bushings adjusted so that both arms touch the ground evenly. This will avoid the Bronco Lean!

Installed with the new Bilstien shocks.

All installed.

And full weight on the ground!

It now drives awesome and rides great! Not sure I can say how much of the improvements is directly due to the new T-Rex arms as opposed to the all new bushings and new shocks, but the whole package works great. But the cool factor is totally attributed to the T-Rex arms!!

What size tire and rim are those? They fit pretty nice.

They are 17x8 wheels with metric equivalent 32-10.50's. The tires are Jeep Rubicon take-offs.

Nice setup! I have the stock arms with a 4” BDS drop brackets with Wild horses progressive rate 4” springs. Super smooth ride. I have a feeling those T Rex arms would make it even better and add extra flex.

Straight forward build! I have a new favorite Bronco. Now to find a good rust-free example.

Can you post more pictures of your Bronco?

Thank you for sharing looking at some suspension work on mine this winter or heading into the spring. Did you get the entire set up from Duff?

T-Rex Arms and front end bushings from Duff's and Bilstein shocks from Wild Horses.
