Vinyl Graphics Longevity.!

Some sort of graphics/striping is definitely on my radar Screen. BUT, when I’m shopping for ideas from suppliers I keep seeing "lasts for 5-6 years" !
Am I the only one who has a big problem with this disclaimer.?!? Are they exaggerating to cover future complaints? Is there a product that will last longer? (I know, PAINT, right?)

UV light plays havoc on vinyl/plastic compounds . If you keep your vehicle garaged then vinyl decals can last 7-10 years easily but if out in the scorching sun then expect the low end of the manufactures claims .

Yeah vinyl graphics have a limited lifetime. Especially if you park your Bronco outside—the weather just wrecks it. Living in Arizona for most of my life I can say that the sun just bakes the vinyl and it will last only about 3-4 years.

If you want it to last longer, you can clear coat over your vinyl graphics. The downside to that approach is those graphics more or less become permanent. And even if you clear coat, the sun can still cause the colors in the vinyl to bleach and/or fade.

Also be careful when waxing your vehicle if you have vinyl graphics. Some car wax can discolor the vinyl.

Exactly why I make my own & swap them frequently.
