Swapping Sasquatch Tires?

Hi Everyone,

Background:
I was not in the market for a Bronco, in fact just 5 days ago I was pricing out 2024 Mustang GTs, but it seems I can't get them delivered in a timely manner at my current overseas location. I then gave up my search for a new car and was just going purchase a local "hooptie", but a few days ago the dealer called, and notified me that a 2023, Bronco Outerbanks with Sasquatch package, 2.3 is in route to my location. This is the only build coming to my overseas location, so its either this or build one myself and wait 12 months. The buyer who placed the order got cold feet, so I put the down a down payment. I've never driven the car, but after watching tons of VLOGS, I think I can't go wrong.

Concern:
If this was the 2.7 I wouldn't have any. But my concern is that 2.3 doesn't have the juice to properly take on the bigger 35s tires on the Sasquatch.

Thoughts:
Thus, I'm thinking of swapping them out with smaller 32 or 33s, maybe the same tires that the badlands has? I won't offroad here, just drive some icey and snowy backrounds in the winter. I Dunno, something smaller and lighter that wont strain the 2.3 engine and kill my MPG. What do you all think? Any recommendations?

I will tell you this, you do not have to worry about not enough power…… “trust me” the 2.3L will be more than sufficient with getting those wheels to turn…
I just recently went to an Off-Road park with Bronco Nation as part of the Woodward Dream Cruise events, and they have there an obstacle that is made from a mountain of concrete.
When I first approached this obstacle, it looked like it was going straight up, and that I would be flipping my Bronco over, so I approached it and slowly started heading up it, I gave it more throttle and soon I was climbing it with tires screeching and it didn’t give in at all, keep in mind this is a wall of concrete, and I was Locked in Front and Rear and it was spinning all 4 tires as I climbed…. Made it in one shot!!!
So “yes” the 2.3L has plenty of power to get you any place you want to go, and it does help having 4.7 gears front and rear…. 😉

One more note:
I think when you go to smaller tires, it could actually worsen your fuel economy having the Sasquatch package, with 4.7 gears…..
I know your speedometer will be off unless you use Forscan!!!

Welcome! Now that we removed the roof rack we are getting 19 mpgs and we have one of the heaviest stock broncos they make. The 2.3l has plenty of power I can spin those 35” pretty easy and we have only been using 87 octane, so we are on reduced power. A Sasquatch OBX is a pretty sweet ride you will enjoy it.
By they way where are you located over seas?

I appreciate the insight - makes me feel a lot better. I’ll find out this Friday when she gets delivered !

You definitely won’t regret having the 35” tires, and if you need a little extra get-up-and -go just pop her in Sport mode, which will automatically put it into 4 Auto, and if you want 2 wheel drive in Sport mode, just hit the button 2 High and it will stay in Sport mode 2 High……
I guarantee you won’t be disappointed with the 2.3L ……………..

Keep us updated on what you decided, and if you get the Bronco, “Always Remember” here at Bronco Nation we Love Pictures…….
The saying around here is……
“Pictures or it didn’t Happen.” 🤣

I hope you love the Bronco. I've been fortunate to have driven dozens of combos, and there's really no wrong way to go -- even between 2.3 vs 3.7l and hard top vs. soft. Looking forward to hearing what you think!

So the car came early !! I picked it up today and got her registered for the Korean roads (fairly fast and painless process).

Initial thoughts :
So it’s raining hard all day, but the Bronco delivers joy and satisfaction. Very smooth power delivery! I haven’t pushed it , but it does respond and it feels good. Could the 2.3 be more powerful yes , but so can every car and every engine . Maybe the ford performance tune after the initial engine break in period could remedy? I’m happy though, very happy . My other car , now my wife’s is a 2019 v6 Jeep wrangler s. I’d say this feel the same in terms of engine response , but due the size this feels more comfortable and just more car and more substantial.

Weird stuff :

So my Bronco came as a Outerbanks , Sasquatch build . But no steel bumper , and the fenders aren’t steel and they are black . Also it has cloth seats . I thought Outerbanks came with leather , painted fenders , and a steel bumper — weird . What do you guys think is the deal?

First things first!
Very nice looking rig you got there, Congrats on bringing her home!!!
Looks like Carbonized Gray I’m guessing, I don’t think it’s Cactus Gray is it, hard to tell when it’s raining?
You might want to look into this option of adding the Ford Performance tune, (I could be wrong) but as long as you don’t mind using Premium gas….. I thought I read where you had to put Premium fuel in to get the performance you want out of it.
I know I saw some videos where they did some testing on it, and running Regular fuel did not change the performance hardly at all, only when they put premium in, just something for you to ponder.
The seats I thought we’re supposed to be Leather trimmed vinyl seats with the option of two colors to choose from……. at least that’s what the 2023 Fords built and price shows!!! hmmmmmm…..
I’m sure someone else will chime in on this, I’m just not quite sure how you could get the cloth!!!
The Modular Bumper was an order that the order holder had to place/add to his/her order to get that Modular bumper, otherwise it comes the way you have it.
When you get Sasquatch package, it will only come with Black plastic fender flares, Outer Banks are only painted if it came with no Sasquatch package, and all fender flares are plastic anyways…..
You will still however get the painted mirrors, just no painted fender flares!!!

Once again Congrats on your pony coming home to it’s new stable….
She does look pretty Sweeeeeet!!!!

Everyone I've come across who gets the FP tune (either 2.3 or 2.7) loves the improvement. Cloth seats is weird -- they forced Wildtrak owners into leather because of a cloth shortage(?), and I'm blanking on any news where OBX had to go to cloth, but it's almost not surprising due to constraints on all sorts of stuff over the years. I'm glad you've been happy so far!

I can always trust a @RagnarKon post to get my head straight: In May of this year, OBX moved to leather only. i had been thinking it always only was.
