Soft Top Wind Noise

Can't get my soft top as "snug" on sides as the day I took delivery back in March? What's the secret to keeping wind and rain out of my 4-door Bronco? I even had rain drops hit me in the face during a heavy rain storm! I have tried to pull the soft top rubber gasket over the rubber finned gasket on the rail, but it does't seem to make much of a difference. Any advice?

There is a latch in the middle on each side, make sure that is fully engaged. Mine requires me to squeeze it closed and lift up on the latch on each side to get it to engage. Also, make sure that the side windows are tucked in behind the cable at the front top corner. Mine isn’t too bad for wind noise as far as convertibles go, and I have not had any issues with water intrusion, but I have not driven it in a downpour yet, just a light rain.

Can you show us pics of your soft top closed, where rain is coming in, and what gaskets you adjusted ? I’ve never had any water problems driving in any torrential downpour. Maybe we can identify the issue by comparing against ours.

I'll back her out tomorrow morning and take a few pics before I pull the front latches to open the top 1/2 way. I was not aware of any additional latch to check, so maybe my top needs adjustment. Will report back with pics tomorrow. Thanks!

The "middle" latches seem to be fully engaged (see pics). I watched the soft top open/close video again and noted that the soft window quarter panels are supposed to be tucked under the cables on each side. It seems that the excessive wind noise may be coming from this area. What I called the gasket is the ribbed rubber that lays over the ribbed rubber of the roof frame. The overlapping of these two pieces is supposed to seal off wind noise to some degree. Hard to hear a conversation with someone in the back seat when traveling at 75 mph.

Is it any better with the rear window flaps tucked in? It is a convertible, so it will be noisier than a hard top would be, my kids do complain a little bit of wind noise in the back seats. My wife and I can hold a good conversation in the front seats though.

I compared your pics to my bronco and didn’t see anything out of the ordinary. I can’t have conversations with anyone in the backseat above 75 mph either.

My dogs sit in the back seat and I don't know if they can hear me or not...lol. although I'm not overly concerned considering that it is a soft top, convertible, 4x4 going 75mph along the highway. I can deal, especially with the fun factor it provides. Don't sweat the small stuff:)

You're probably right about having a conversation with the backseat at 75 mph. I just seems that I left a window down when I hear a motorcycle or truck beside me. It's been since 1976 since I owned a convertible (Triumph TR6), and I am totally pumped to be able to put the top down on my Bronco in about 2 minutes! Thanks everyone for listening to an old man.

The sound seems normal, the rain does not. I’ve been through plenty of down pours, on and off highways and never had a leak. Definitely some noise at speed, but I don’t think it’s that bad. Only annoyance for me is the whistling noise I hear every now and then.
