Proud New Black Diamond Owner, but I have a new car/dealership question about missing aftermarket add-ons

I've only purchased 2 new cars over my 34 years of driving, so forgive me if this is a dumb question.

After a couple weeks of driving my new bronco and thinking about add-ons, I happened to look over the sales sheet again a noticed I paid for the Wheel Locks (which I was thinking of buying) and Door Edge Guards that were not put on the car. I notified the sales team and got a "you sure"? After confirming I did pay for them, they were more than willing to fix the issue along with a dent that appeared to occurred when they had the doors off (showroom model).

Trekked over to the dealer to fix these things. 5 hours later they tell me they missed up days and communication on what's in stock....I'd have to come back 1 or two times!

Is this normal? They want to fix it, but the fact they let me drive off the lot without mentioning the aftermarket status, seems very shady to me. The previous dealer I was talking to had all these things already on the car, so I assumed they were there.

$15 in gas to drive out to the dealership each time during a very busy time at work. Seems a bit unprofessional.

Am I crazy?

Shouldn't be normal but can be. Depends on dealership. I had to go back a few times from my point of purchase for the tint scheduling and accessory pick ups. 50+ miles each way each time. For future reference if you order through Ford Accessories or Ford Parts you can have most shipped to your house, even though you have to enter your preferred dealership. If you create an account you can get free shipping and they run occasional promos. Additionally if you order for dealership delivery you can add installation at a set price. For example I had the dealership install my rear enclosure since I had a credit but they charged over $200 vs Ford's set install of $50 (at that time anyway).

I got Betty in November of 2021. 12+ months of calling and getting the run around from the sales guy about parts and limited availability I realized the item I ordered with my initial order (the biminy sunshade top) I could get online through Ford Accessories. I just gave up and ordered one aftermarket rather than get lied to some more. A co-worker had door bags in his bronco when he test drove it (they sold him the dealer's demo) and they were removed during the final detail before he took delivery...They said, "oh they must have taken them out in detailing and forgot to put them back in" then gave him the run around about it. He was at the same dealer I used, so maybe it's specific to them? :🤷:
