Hi!
Just got my 2021 Outer Banks with soft top a couple of days ago. Super stoked.
Wasn't sure about waiting longer for the hard top and miss out on my Antimatter Blue color.
So far I like it, but for one concern: if someone were to break in and I left the keys inside, even if in a safe, is there some kind of kill switch?

In a word…yep.! (Maybe.!) See pics. Can’t wait to confirm this myself, but I have read that if you leave fob in vehicle and lock the doors using the keypad that your fob is disabled until keypad code is re-entered. I will conduct a test when my keypad is installed.E191D9F5-F7AA-4E9B-A222-EA848E3E059F.jpeg0DA384AD-F18C-4694-907D-4F0FDAA7F116.jpeg

Thank you! I do have the keypad installed, so that's a relief to know that. Since I have the soft top, I am going to remove the rear window and get inside and try to start the vehicle that way, see what happens, mimicking someone slashing through it.

How SWEET it is! I would have taken the softtop to get that color for sure. I ordered a 2dr in that color so I had to switch to Black. Can't believe they discontinued that color,I think they want to bring it back as a Special Edition in the future.

My neighbor installed the keypad inside the fuel door, just a stick on, and outta sight outta mind. Think I will do the same.

My dealer said someone was offering $30K over MSRP for this one. Glad I had my price guarantee!

Hey @MooseTheBronco21 - how did your experiment work out? I am curious how it works…

Y'all are hilarious!
Let me go test this right now, I have procrastinated, too busy responding to questions from every dad at every kid after school activity...

The experiment was a FAIL...
Got inside with the key, my wife locked the car via the keypad.
Hit the start button, and the engine revved up.
Makes the keypad almost useless a feature with a soft top, and valet mode doesn't quite cut it for kill switch purposes...

Curious if the safe accessories (trunk or armrest console) act as a Faraday cage and block the keyfob's signal to the car.

There are cars (Jeep) that do in certain instances, but they are specific. If you left the keys in the ignition would you expect it not to start (I get it's keyless...but historically). Seems weird there would be a possibility of theft protection while still allowing you as the owner to start it. Where is the line between it starting and not?
