Missing Aux switches

Hi All,
I wanted to get some opinions and recommendations for the situation I'm in.
I'm a "day one" reservation holder and ordered a Big Bend, manual trans with very limited accessories. One of the few accessories I ordered was the overhead auxiliary switches on my Bronco. It was a no-brainer because I have intensions to add accessories to my vehicle and the switches and wiring would be a huge bonus.
My 2021 Ford Bronco arrived at the dealership Monday, 1/3/22 but unfortunately Ford forgot to install the aux switches during the manufacturing process. In my mind this is a huge oversight because the wires are run thought the vehicle during the assembly process, minimizing many protentional issues that come with aftermarket accessories wiring.
The dealership has been less than stellar, basically ignoring the oversite. after almost a week of ignoring me they basically said, "we will have to reimburse you for the switches. I told them that this is a very important option for my order. They responded by telling me they were going to reach out to a local repair and accessory shop and see if they could install them.
I am not interested in the reimbursement or having some schmuck run wires through my new vehicle. (if that is even a thing)
Has anyone else had a similar issue with their order? If so, what was the remedy?

Thanks in advance!,
Jeffrey

Hi Jeffrey,
It was my understanding the wiring is all there already. The option just deletes the sunglass holder and replaces it with the bank of switches. So, you should be able to add the switches or source your own after the fact. Have the dealership check the left side fuse bank in front of the firewall under the hood -there should be prepped wiring there already.

Not that i’m the most knowledgeable person here, BUT I dont recall ever seeing/hearing Ford pre-wires for the Aux switch without ordering it. Now, it could be that someone did do the wiring and the next person, that is suppose to install the switches, didnt do it. I doubt it, but who knows. The dealership might be able to do the work, but doubt it, and ford isnt going to take the vehicle back. Most likely, you’ll get your money back.. Guess if you dont like it, you can always sell it. Sucks but what else can you do.

Mines missing the front camera and 360. They're on the window sticker and build order. Not near the problem you have. Thank you for letting me share this on your post.

Yes, unfortunately I agree, the pre-wires are there, but no fused up-fitters... In the 1 Five 1 vid, Sean clearly shows there is no way to easily add after the fact... if you dont want to attempt it yourself, its about a $1000 bill to upgrade. I would definitely be going back to my ordering dealer on this. I was a Ford QA Eng for six years and sold heavy diesel trucks until 2008.... I can show you how to add accessories, but its not pretty... basically have about $1000 on tap and a subscription to FORscan

Yeah, this is a possibility. If it truly was on the build order, the wires may have been ran but the switches were never installed. It would be worth a look.

Some people have had luck contacting Mike Levine on Twitter on matters like this. He may be able to help push through a high priority order.

As already stated your dealer doesn't care. They got their money.

To be honest, it sounds like you are being a bit unreasonable. Your dealer seems to have offered the two most likely options that are within their ability to resolve this, although it also sounds like they may have done this reluctantly. Only you would know the answer to that.
What exactly do you think is the right way to resolve this? Since you apparently took delivery you are stuck with it now. It’s unfortunate that it happened, and I feel for you because I too ordered the aux switches and have plans to use them. However, you should have inspected the vehicle before taking delivery and purchasing it. That would have been the time to put this issue on the table to see what your options were. At that time, one other option might have been before you to not take delivery and see if they could order a replacement vehicle with a priority build.
There have been some good suggestions from others in the thread to check (or have your dealer check) to see if the wiring points happens to be installed. Short of that it seems you have 4 options: 1) Take the refund for the option, 2) Go with the Schmuck to install it, 3) Install the option yourself, or 4) sell the vehicle and start over.
Best wishes on getting it resolved.

So from what I understand and have read (mind you I don't have my Bronco yet to verify 100%), but if you don't get the up-fitters, you will still have the six wires run to the rear, A pillar, passenger floor board, front, cowl ect... The up-fitters add the fused switches on the overhead console and the "hot" wires near the brake booster to tap into. So essentially with a little work, you could install a 6-way fuse block, tap it to the battery and add the switches somewhere in the vehicle. 1 five 1 did a great job adding his, but it was a lot of work removing panels and fabricating.

So, here's the true issue with your current deal. Even if they did get the roof panel and the switches, which I am sure a dealer can order and load, the true concern is that each of those switches is wired to a relay and fused under the actual fuse block out by your front driver side tire. So, now let's say they get those wires through your window post and down to your firewall, that's fine, but unless run through your fuse block and relays for each line rated from 25 amps to 5, you now have to run your own relays for the constant and safe use of any lights. Can you run these relays and fuses yourself, yes, but they will not look or be positioned and work anyway near what Ford should have done! I would go to Ford USA and see if they can get a rep specialist on the issue to define the current status on the switches. I guarantee that there are very tight inventory detail-sheets and computer files that say , step by step, what goes into every vin number, prob even time logs as well.

So the salesperson says, "Ok" and sells it to the next person in line? Really, what's your recourse, re-order? You can't hold it hostage and tell them you're not taking it but they can't sell it to someone else.

You could have the dealer issue an itemized IOU and have dealer install missing items at their cost ...when they come in
