I just tried to get my soundbar flashed and my local dealer wants to keep it for a few days to "figure it out". Anyone in southern california already get theirs done around me?I'm in norco

It takes like less than 10 minutes to flash it. But uhh... whatever I guess.

It's probably their first time doing it and/or they are busy.

Is there a way to do it at home without that program?

I am pretty sure you can do it with Forscan. There are a couple of videos on you tube to show the process. Looks pretty straight forward. I kind of miss the days when you could just run some wires, hook up some speakers and rock out.

Right! I was about to return it, but it sounded sweet in the 4 door at hammers, so my 2 door is gonna rock! Screw the back window, it'll have a 37 in the way pretty soon anyways.

But freaking annoying. I explained the process to 5 techs at 5 different locations and they all didn't know what I was talking about. San Bernardino ford was the only one that said they can do it, but just haven't yet.

Can't do it with ForScan... It's a software update. Ther is a way to enable a broader frequency range to the rear speakers though.

Been having same issue, dealer installed and it works, but sounds awful. 2 days with the dealer and they can't figure it out. Said they've flashed it 3 times and waiting for ford engineering to get back to them. Anyone have any ideas of what to tell them to do specifically?

There's not much base from the sound bar, if that's the awful sound you're talking about. I also taped the connections cuz you know, offroad stuff.

But I fixed the base issue with the jbl fuse, 2 8" subs and a kicker 4 channel, 2 to the subs and 2 to the soundbar. It completed the overall sound.

I'd also check the connections in the soundbar, or return it and get a new one.

But send me a sound clip to make sure the speakers aren't blown.

Before the flash volume 17-19 sounded the best. Now it doesn't matter how loud it is, it sounds amazing.

I don't expect much bass out of it, still 4" speakers, but the soundbar sounds worse than my front factory 4" speakers, and quiet. I don't believe it can be that underwhelming. My cheap TV soundbar sounds much better. I'll get a clip if they can't figure it out today, thanks for reply !

i hope they work it out for you. When i finanly found a dealer that would do it, it took them about 30 minutes and made it way louder, almost too loud. i really think the amp helped balance everything out properly.

It is only getting the same power as the 2 weak 4 1/2's without the flash. The flash basically just double the power.

I also gave them the instructions it came with so they didnt have an excuse. There was a whole page or 2 about how to flash it.

I think i tossed them, but if I come across it I'll post them.

I forget the guys name who did it for me, but have them call San Bernardino Ford. Huntington Beach Ford called me back weeks later saying that they can now do it too.

Update - dealership reached out to ford engineering Canada, consensus is my bronco is updated to most current update, and it doesn't work with soundbar, so they say. So now they said wait for a new update to come out. Just going to return it and go a custom audio route, this seems ridiculous.

I'm trying to figure out why they'd need to consult with Ford engineering when the flashing steps are *literally* within the installation instructions provided for the sound bar...

Are they following those steps?

I wish I knew what is going on behind the scenes, they seem to think it's a massive problem Bronco wide, but I've yet to see another post anywhere about this. For now its a 1000 dollar window blocker that sounds like a $20 Bluetooth speaker

My initial order took from open ordering day till December '21.

I had to pick up the truck in la by the airport off the lot cuz my initial order had the 30k mark up after hitting the lot. F**K trying to buy from these local dealers! But thats a story for another day.. I was about to fly to Arizona to buy one until airport marina ford caved on their markup.

I ended up paying 10k over sticker, but they gave more than what i paid for my trade in so it worked out for me in the long run, only about 4k more out of pocket. It was the actually a better build anyways.

My 2 cents, get your sale price in writing. They told me msrp until the paperwork came out.

I actually like the fact that it blocks the window, there's a bunch of way too overly bright headlights in my area.

But I'd fight for a refund. Tell them you'd keep it if it worked.

A friend just replaced his rear pods with marine kicker pods and plug and play kickers for the fronts and kick panels. It doesn't block your view and sounds great. His amp made a world of difference without a flash. He also ordered the jbl fuse to fill out the missing bass.
