Is this normal on a soft top roof?

I noticed that rain is puddling up on my soft top roof. Living in the PNW, this baby will see a lot of rain and I imagine over time - this will be a problem. Is this normal?Broncoroof.JPG

100% Normal. In fact, water should bead up over the whole top. Have you driven through an automatic car wash?

These soft tops need to be hand washed and periodically treated with appropriate cleaners & protectants. I am a fan of Ragg Topp.

Thank you! Good to know. I love my Bronco, but I'm new to the world of soft tops.

It sure is! I wondered the same thing with my Bronco when I saw that same puddle in that same spot.
When the truck is off, push that spot with your finger and you will notice it goes up and down. Lots of give.
Then once you are driving down the road, push it again. Voila! It is super taught. Somehow the cabin area pressurizes and the whole soft top gets tight like the top of a drum.
Tits.

When then vehicle is moving forward, the wind passes over the roofline faster than the air inside of the vehicle and creates an area of low pressure. This is also known asBernoulli's Principle.

The high speed air outside of the roof is at a lower pressure than the still air inside the car. Hence because of Bernoulli's principle the cloth top of a convertible will bulge upward when the car is driving fast.
