Hard top conversion?

I placed an order for a Big Bend 4dr soft top July 14. The dealer said that I couldn't order the hard top due to production problems, but would be able to get a conversion kit later. The Ford website states that it is not possible to convert to a hard top due to connections for the rear defroster and wiper being absent. Has this changed or do I need to discuss this with the dealer?

Discuss it with the dealer. I have an email confirming that i would get the hard top prep kit with a soft top now so I can order the hard top when available.

You can 100% order a MIC top, your dealer is clueless. Now, will it take longer most likely given when you made a reservation, order date, and your build. But there are NO hardtop conversion kits until Sept 1st and after builds. Now, if you go soft-top and want a hardtop, best of luck getting one before 2023 probably at the earliest if not even later given the amount needed by Ford to fulfill current orders and orders still coming in for MIC's and then MOD's in 2023. Plus, you will be covering all the freight charges to get the hardtop as well.
