Fun Off-Roading at Evan's Creek ORV Park in Washington State

I spent a day on the most difficult trail in Evan's Creek ORV Park. The park is located in Carbonado, Washington near Mount Rainier. I asked @EZAPAR to ease me into off-roading, but he clearly had other plans. Henceforth, he shall be known as "Evil Eric." LOL :devilish:

At the end of the day, I was grateful for the opportunity to explore a beautiful part of Washington State and I appreciated having a seasoned off-roader as a trail guide. It wasn't without peril, as the gouges in my wheels and scuffs on my flares will attest. Still, every scratch tells a story and these puppies were born and bred to be run OFF-ROAD, right? I already feel more comfortable driving off-road, and using the Bronco's hero switches feels natural, even second nature to me now.

It was a day of firsts for me. Before yesterday, I hadn't aired down ANY car, nor used a rapid deflator to do so. I also never aired up a vehicle and learned the hard way that air couplings get HOT AS HELL when a compressor has been running for a while. Fortunately, I didn't get any blisters on my fingers. Lesson learned. My own portable compressor will be arriving this Wednesday. I'm gearing up. I want to be as independent as possible.

It was the first time I removed the lower halves of my mud flaps and judging by the way my fender flares look now, it was a good call.

I also used several camera views in the process of navigating the impossiblynarrow passages through the woods. I could not believe where I took my Bronco. Thinking back, it was absolutely NUTS. I have a link below to a YouTube video that showed me working my way up a relatively wide (but STEEP) portion of the trail. Photos and videos never capture the scale or scope of navigating obstacles or challenging terrain. I hope you enjoy what you see...

Now get your Broncos out in the wild! 😎

The video isn't fancy at all. It's just me climbing a hill in my Bronco. It's my first, so please be kind. LOL Eric gave a shout-out to @Laura. 🤓

I was amazed by the beauty of the landscape and how quiet it was when we stopped for lunch. A far cry from downtown Seattle! The trees were incredible. I even snapped pix of flowers I've never seen before. Couldn't tell you what they were, but they were cool, just growing wild!

I got this for $185 on Amazon during Prime Days. Eric got the same one and it’s incredible. He aired up all four of his tires in the time it took me to air up one with his old compressor.

Good stuff man. You did fine, were able to handle instructions when I was spotting. In my defense. I did suggest that you take off your flares. ;) The trails he talked about are lower and upper 311. They get a LOT tougher when it's raining or in the snow and at night. We did the trail at a difficulty of about 4/10.

Where's my vid!! You sent me the super grainy version. lol High def me bro!

Got any of the go-pro footage following me to show just how skinny the trail is?

Chris, does this come with a lock-on air chuck for the tire?

I didn’t want to presume that you wanted me to air it. I’ll have to upload it to YouTube and share a link when I get home from work.

And in MY defense, you didn’t tell me we were going on the most challenging trail in the park. Had I known, I might have considered dismantling my car to suit the terrain. Your guidance was appreciated, but you assumed I knew what I was doing. If I recall, your comments ranged from “Nicely done” to “You’re killing me, bro.” So I’ll have to edit out the salty language on my GoPro videos.

Not to steal this thread but you can get a similar compressor from a BN member @Tricky Dick at
https://td-distributing.myshopify.com/products/trickflate-dual-cylinder-12v-300-l-min-air-compressor
I have one from him although mine is slightly different it works great I can air up in 103 degrees from 15-39psi, all four tires in about 10-12 minutes.
Just a thought.

Again sorry for hijacking the thread. I have heard good things about the compressor you bought, so I don’t think you did bad just another option for others reading this thread.
I would also suggest his tie rod repair kit.

Nice bit of driving. Of course, it’s easier if you’re driving an old, hammered POS and don’t care whether you get it banged up! Quite a different thing if you’re staring at years of payments and it’s your only daily driver.

It looks like a Bronco could handle that pretty well. Maybe a rocky path uphill might benefit from a rear locker. But otherwise didn't look bad if you have good ground clearance. Sure, it gets narrow in some places, and if you aren't familiar with your vehicle, that might be a problem. But otherwise, I think it would be a fun and careful run.
Thanks for sharing.
