So where to begin with this mess? Let’s start with the first day I entered Premier Ford dealer in New York on 4-16-22. I spoke with some young salesman and ordered a 2022 ford bronco wildtrak And put down $3000 as a deposit, total was about $64k. He tells me it will be a 1-3 months, I was surprised because I heard about the delays. A week goes by and I found out the wildtrak does not have the front stabilizer bar disconnect so I try to change the order to a Badlands. I text the young salesman and he says it is too late to change it because the orders are in so it’s to late. I say OK.
After a month goes by, I read on the forms that I should get an email confirming my order. I never received an email. So I decide to call again to found out what’s going on with my order. As I called the sales department she tells me there’s no order on file under my name! So this photocopied page with my order is useless. So she puts me through a senior salesman which tells me the young salesman no longer works there so, it seems I was lied too, but I can change the order but as of now no orders can be done and I have to order a 2023 bronco now. He tells me to send him the order(sent by text to his cellphone) and to remind him about it so he can put the order in on August . Remind him?! In August!? I found that to be funny I have to remind him to do something and that orders are closed till months later!? Well I guess this nothing I can do but wait. So I wait.
So near the first day of May comes and I remind him and get no response. So I decide to go back again to the dealership, I was close by at the time, and confirm in person that if they even got the new order. Again I speak with another salesman and he tells me the same thing that no orders can be done at this time and he shows what looks like 8-10 orders of the car that people are waiting on. I explain I understand that but you guys don’t even have my order on file at all! You have $3000 Going to nothing I tell him. He gives me his email to send him the order. I send him the order from website link and I feel better thinking at least they have my order now.
So again near the first day of June I send an email to that salesman again about my situation and a link with the order build from the website just confirm they have my order at least on file. No response. At this time just a few days in June, I have family members pass away. 2 in a few days apart. So I forget about this for now.
On July 2, I send again the orders from the website link about the order to the Salesperson again I spoke in early May. No answer. I call to ask about my order and the salesperson asks me what did I order because she has nothing on my name! OMG! I explain to her what’s been going on so far. She transfers me to someone that I leave a message on voicemail about my order and to call me back. Nothing as the day passes. I guess that persons out for the day. Just my luck. I give up and go back to work. I will try again tomorrow.
I understand this car is in high demand and it’s going to take 6 to maybe over a years to even get. I am very patient and understand that things are pretty bad with ordering because of the require chips and what not. I just feel my first new car purchase is a huge disappointment and not what I expected. I figured I would walk in. Put my order down and just sit and wait. Thank god I joined this forum and read some posts because I bet me sitting here and just waiting nothing would be ordered and done. I am beginning to feel I should just get my money back and go somewhere else but have over 3 months vested here so far so what’s another month or so. I am lucky In NY I have mass transit so I can go to most places that I need too but the trains do suck at times. My family and friends are like amazed how this process is going on with me ordering a new car. I would like some advised about this and what I should do. I am over reacting or what? Is the dealer not explaining something to me or I am missing something here? As of right now they have $3000 going to nothing! Here’s my order.

ok as of today(7/13/22) I easily got my deposit back. Took less than 1 min! I am grateful to you all answering me with advise about this. I got a new dealer recommended from a really good friend and the salesman was totally honest and explained to me what most here in the forums already have.
So now with this new salesman he tells me I have to get a reservation. How do I get a reservation? Okay I go to the website and I check which shows no reservation whatsoever other than going to the account history no clue when reservations are coming up so I am totally in the dark.
Good news is I find a dealership that has a bronco with the built I almost want but they mark up the price by $12 K on top of the suggested retail price! At least he was honest when I called his dealership and explains to me it’s market value right now as everyone knows it’s hard to get these vehicles and that’s the market value. Now this I appreciate the honesty Unlike my first dealer experience.
I’m honestly going to give this sometime. I mean I already wasted 3 months and I know it could take up to 1 or even 2 years. But I must admit I might start looking at a Jeep rubicon with the recon package because 1 or 2 years waiting with no certainty in site is not a good feeling. I have been checking the website, while log onto my account, to when I will see this reservation come up. I am keeping hope about this and going to give a go and pray I don’t lose that hope! We’ll see in the next upcoming months.

Wow. Just awful. I am lucky to live near a dealership I trust. At this point I would've gone to another dealership and gotten my money back.

I believe that the order banks for MY 22 Broncos closed around 3/7/22, so no new orders could be placed after that date. The new MY 23 information will be released on 8/15/22 and actual ordering starts in September sometime. At the point you went in and put down your deposit they couldn’t place the order. I would get my 3K back immediately. Go to a different dealer and ask to speak to their sales manager or Bronco specialist. What kind of documentation have you gotten from them? They never should have taken a deposit from you. You need to realize that for the vehicle you are wanting, depending on the model and options, you will probably be looking at 1-2 years. There are thousands of people who reserved in 2020 and ordered in early 2021 and reordered in October of 2021. And those people are still waiting.

Oof. I'm sorry you're having this experience with your dealership. @TK1215 is right, by April, Ford had already turned off orders. I'd try to get your deposit back and maybe consider finding another dealer. This launch has been hard enough, you don't want to be going through a dishonest or unknowledgeable dealership that may make it worse. Length of time waiting also depends on dealer allocations, and if you can't get a straight answer on an order (that we all know was impossible to place), you're going to have a frustrating time finding out additional details (Ford mostly communicates to you through the dealer, so if they don't pass it on, you may be in the dark).

@TK1215 hit the nail on the head.

Without having a reservation, you currently don't even have a place in line. I would call around to dealerships and find one that will give a MSRP guarantee in writing. Then I would go on the Ford website and create a reservation for a bronco and select the dealership that will give you the MSRP guarantee in writing. Then when the order banks open back up, contact your dealership that has your reservation and have them convert your reservation to an order. Ask them to send the order confirmation from Ford after they complete your order.

Two problems:

1. The first guy should never told you that you could place an order in April. Order banks closed on March 7, 2022. I’m assuming he was new or misinformed.

2. You can’t place a Y23 order until order banks open on August 15, 2022. There is no point in sending your desired build options to the sales people because they can’t do anything with it now.

Get your $3000 back and wait until August 15 to place your order in person at the dealership. You might want to try a different dealership because the one you are dealing with seems unorganized.

From my experience, and from what I can tell most others on this forum, you have to be your own advocate. Before I selected a dealership, I did research by reading reviews, and asking folks I knew for recommendations. I chose a dealership an hour's drive away based on their excellent reputation. Even after that effort, I find the dealership to be totally useless. I had to insist that they convert my reservation to an order in March of 2021 with pushback telling me I was incorrect. I stayed on them until they realized I was correct, and made it in on the very last possible day. UGH. I guess what I'm trying to say is, you're not alone, and we're all navigating dealership shenanigans right now. They don't even respond to my emails or calls anymore...it's laughable. Sometimes I'm tempted to pop over there to give them all a scare, but it's not worth the hour drive. HANG IN THERE, BABY!

Weird, not sure how you would have ordered in April of this year when the order banks closed beginning of March and are not open until August maybe (so no orders going in since March). So thats all the farther I read outside there is no way 1-3 months too. Then I stopped

Great advice but his circumstances and problems are far different and originate with a misinformed salesman that is no longer at the dealership.

What a nightmare, fortunately you've come to the right place to get help and answers. There is a thread on the site that lists dealers honoring MSRP and are hopefully honest with you about order placement, time frame, parts constraints and recommendations and honest answers on configurations. We're all here to help so reach out as often as necessary. Get your deposit back ASAP and look for a good dealer on the list. https://thebronconation.com/forums/threads/msrp-dealer-list.10646/post-189977

Get your deposit back, find a new dealer that you're comfortable with--if the current dealer is this difficult to communicate with over an order that hasn't been placed yet, it's only going to get worse if you stay with them. You've got plenty of time to find a new dealer, once the order banks open and your order is placed...keep the deposit as low as possible, there's no sense or advantage in giving them a huge amount like $3k. Get a copy of the DORA once they enter it into the order banks, and have them sign and you sign it with what price you'll be paying. Looked at your order...you have got every imaginable constraint out there...be patient, you'll be waiting quite a while unless you find a dealer with available allocations and a very low order volume.

Good luck

At this point your order hasn't even been placed yet, so it will not set you back at all if you get your $3,000 back (ridiculous amount...shame on them) and find a dealer that will be straight with you. But realize that if you want a Bronco...it will be a process and a wait even with a reliable dealer. You can place your own order and select the dealer of your choice to have it delivered to...when you've found someone you trust. Go get your money back. I paid a $100 (refundable if I canceled) deposit, place my own order and selected my Ford dealership and dealer, did have to wait and wonder for a while...but it was well worth the wait. In two months, I will have had my Bronco for a year...and there is not one thing I would do differently. Make sure you find a dealership that will be straight with you...I had several things I ordered on my baby that got "undone" in the process and my dealer saved the day by putting those things I didn't want to compromise on back onto my order.

They do open but I believe they actually start placing or pulling them in September. I believe it will be similar to 2021 orders. Information came out and reservations started in July, I went to my dealership with my information sometime in December and they started actually taking orders in January of 2021. Someone will provide corrected or more accurate information. And even that is always subject to change.
Update: Order banks open 8/15, Scheduling starts 9/22
