Fast Production Date - Realistic Expectation on Timeline

I'm sure this question has been discussed but since I need to sale my daily driver truck and don't want to be driving my hunting truck (i do a lot of deer and duck hunting and fishing et al in that truck so it isn't exactly one i want to drive to a client's since I work in a professional environment) to work too long. Because of that, I'm trying to get realistic input on when to sale my daily driver which is going for a shockingly high number right now. I frankly was expecting a full year or so before I would get the Bronco (late 2022 early 2023) but it appears that timeline has been moved up. I ordered a wildtrak, cactus grey, mic top along with a few accessories on 10/25/21. No reservation date but went to a small town dealer who submitted my order on the 10/25/21. Got email confirming my order on 10/27 with the email stating "[w]e are excited to let you know your 2022 Bronco Wildtrak™ 4 Door has been scheduled for production. Your vehicle is scheduled to be built the week of January 3, 2022". They sent a VIN as well. I've read enough to realize that the build date is uncertain at best and frankly given what i read is others' experiences I keep questioning if its legit lol.

My question is once I receive email that its actually going to be built or being built (assuming I'm supposed to receive an email then) how long thereafter do i have? I would like to give myself a month to sale my daily. Any suggestions on timeline? Its being delivered to very rural Oklahoma area as I used a small town dealer where I grew up as he was willing to sign an agreement that I would get it for MSRP and not a penny more. Thanks for any input and apologies as I suspect this has been asked before but since this is my first message board and I'm having trouble finding it in the search I'm doing the lazy thing and asking.

As a side note, about a month ago I saw what I'm sure now was a first edition cruising down the interstate with its top down. When I saw it cruising I called my wife and said "I'm buying whatever this Ford I just saw is". They were driving 80 so I sped up and they probably thought I was a creeper looking it up and down. I was sold even though I frankly was not in the market for a new ride as I really like my Ford F150. Just so happens shortly after seeing the one on the interstate, I was at the local youth ballpark for my boy and see another one. Said crap, its a sign. I Immediately got online building myself one then called dealers here in the City. I found one at dealer, test drove it and told him i wanted to buy it. He told me it would be $20k over MSRP. I laughed at him and walked away. My wife started looking on social media and found a First Edition in Dallas selling for $105,000.00. Started thinking $20k over wasn't that bad but knew my parents were longtime buyers at a small town Ford dealership at the edge of the Ozarks where they live. My parents got there longtime salesman to call me. He warned me it would at least be a year and maybe up to 2 years. I said I don't care as long as you will sign a contract that I don't have to pay over MSRP and get me what I want. The dealership signed the agreement and we were off to the races. As fast as this is going i'm debating buying another for my wife, kids or maybe i just need two and/or to sale one if they are actually going for six figures. lol

Once you receive an actual build week you are pretty set these days. Expect it, once it’s actual built, to be ready for shipment the week after being built. Your dealer can provide you with the actual blend date. Check the post here with all the links.

Honestly it's hard to say.

At my dealer some people were originally scheduled for September and they now have a November build week. Others had their Broncos built on the original build week. It seemed like things were starting to stabilize, but just recently there was 2 Broncos that were scheduled for this past week that are now bumped to the end of November.

Delivery times also vary widely, but it is safe to say that the more rural you are the longer it'll take. I would ask the dealer how long it typically takes them to get deliveries from the Michigan area, they will have a better idea than anyone on this forum.

Thank you. When I click on the link they gave me doesn’t show much and I read that it’s not always up to date. Will they send email when it’s actually being built? Thanks.

Something doesn’t sound right, for you to get a build date only two days after your ordered. When there have been people waiting over a year with reservation # and still waiting with no build date.

This has happened several times. It depends on available allocations at each dealer. If his dealer had open spots and he walked in and ordered then Ford may pick it if parts are available. It’s not unheard of. Whether you agree with it or not is the question.

I have had the same curiosities wondering how this happened. The best i can come up with is i ordered a wildtrak and I'm reading that a lot of people switched from them thus leaving open spots. I also ordered from a small town dealer where not a lot of people will drop the money i'm spending on this and most want trucks. I suspect they had unfulfilled allocations as my parents tell me they haven't seen a single bronco in this town. I'm hoping i just hit the perfect storm. Here is my email that i received!

If your production week gets moved, you'll receive a email stating what the new week is. And then you get another email when it is built, and another when it is shipped to the dealer.

Also... I've found that the emails are often a day or two behind. If you want the most up-to-date info you'll need your dealer to pull a vehicle visibility report. But the dealer themselves doesn't really see anything interesting until it is assigned a blend date (which is the actual date of final assembly).

Seems to mean less and less and in some cases is absolutely useless...... The one thing that stands out to me on all these that popped up in this latest go around.... 'the dealer was as shocked as I was'....... The dealer has no idea what their allocation is? the dealer didn't know the build was being previewed? There are certainly potential explanations for everything.....

Yeah the dealers don't have much insight.

I find it to honestly just be... I dunno... dumb? Ford always directs us to ask our dealer questions rather than Ford themselves... but our dealers aren't given much more information than we are. And I personally get WAY more information from leaks on Internet forums than I do from my dealer or Ford.

Anyway, for 2021 dealers were told what their Bronco allocations were for the entire production year, but 2021 was kind of a special year compared to the norm. And in the end, it didn't matter anyway because Ford couldn't fulfill their total allocation numbers. My dealer was allocated 28 units for 2021, but will only be getting 17 total. Under "normal" conditions, they typically get monthly allocation numbers from Ford for specific models, but my dealer has not received their Dec '21 / Jan '22 allocation for the Bronco, Bronco Sport, or Maverick yet.

So right now all they get is a notification when their orders are assigned a VIN and scheduled for build, and they get the information roughly the same time we do, so kind of pointless. My dealer has had six 2022 builds scheduled so far.

You think out of the thousands of orders that this vehicle is one of a kind and they have the exact parts needed to build this vehicle before someone else’s

Grats! And to be somewhat helpful, you can plan when you get the window sticker. Based on others here, the sticker is release 7-8 days before production date. It takes a day to build, maybe a day or two for inspection/testing/ect, and then it could ship soon, or a few days to ship. It could take up to 3 weeks to get it, and yet, it can all be wrong, well, expect the 7-8 days from window sticker to production.

This is the right timing. Once you get a production date that does not move about a week prior, and can see the window sticker, you have around a month give or take before it arrives. That's the time to make sales, or line up a trade in etc. The important check is the week prior to your build email, check with the dealer to see if it has moved. Many times in the past the moves happened with no email notification.

Pretty much, but so far it happened to me in Sept. Had a date, it went 2 days, and the I contacted the dealer, who told me they have it as Nov 15th. A few hours later, got the ford email for the week of Nov 22. Still not sure which is correct, but figured I’ll get that sticker this weekend, or the next..I hope! Cause quite a few people have been bumped still.

Good read folks! I'm in the same boat.

I got my VIN and production email for 11/15 which was bumped to 11/22. Still in shock that it's actually in the queue with a sprinkle of not-sure-I-believe-it.

I've been wrestling with the timing of selling my daily ride, too. Even with my skepticism, I just listed my car. (YIKES - this is getting real! ). I'm going to be so sad to sell her, but need to for the down payment. That said, my excitement for my Bronco, outweighs being sad.

I'd rather sell a little on the early side than be stuck without additional funds to apply to my Bronco. Plus, I work from home so can bum one of DH's F-150's. Probably Ole Red.

Wow ! Lucky you. I’ve had a reservation since 9/17/20 and still haven’t had a conversion / production email sent. You should be pretty set with the timing they send you unless more delays are announced.
