Several of us met up at the Bronco the Mac event in the beginning of June. After a few went on a less than stellar trail ride, we decided to venture to Drummond Island for the day.

@Deano Bronc and I had already planned a trip in the fall to go to the Badlands in Attica, In. After spending the day on Drummond Island, we made the decision to forgo the trip to the Badlands and return to Drummond Island.

We invite the original group who went to Drummond Island(@BroncOitis, @Roughstock11, @meadoffroader @Deano Bronc and myself). We also invited @TK1215 , @EGBronc and @Laura. Unfortunately Michelle and Laura were not able to make the trip.

Tim came all the way from Arizona to play with us! He made it to Indiana on Tuesday and stayed the night with Dean. Wednesday he stayed in Wayland, MI and we(Tim & Elizabeth, Dean & Suzy, Michelle, my wife(Cindy and I)met up for dinner.

Brian and Kristy went to St. Ignace on Wednesday, Dean and Suzy headed to Mackinaw City after dinner. My wife and I met up with Tim and Elizabeth on Thursday morning and we headed north together. We made it to St. Ignace at 10:50am and stopped for breakfast at the Wild Blueberry. While we were there Brian, Kristy, Dean and Suzy who had met up earlier in the day showed up.

After we finished breakfast, the 8 of us went and posed for a picture before we headed to Detour to cath the ferry to Drummond Island.

An hour later we were on the ferry headed to Drummond Island.
IMG_4851.jpeg

Once we were on the island, we split up and checked into our places/set up camp. Everyone was on the island and we met up for dinner at the Trailhead Bar and Campground at 4:30pm. It was nice to see everyone again. Lots of hugs and hand shakes!!!

The game plan for Thursday night was to see a sun set and do a night trail ride. After we finished dinner, we headed to a spot to watch the sunset.

This is where the fun began! I hold told the group I had an activity planned for everyone, but I would not tell them what it was.

Once we were out of our broncos, I pulled out a box from my bronco with 12 boxes in it. Nobody knew what was inside the boxes. Inside each box was a flint rod, stroke, some shredded wood and some tissue paper.

Everyone was given a box and was told that inside the box was the key to surviving in the wild. They were not told how to use the flint or how to start a fire. All they were told was to be creative! The first 3 to get a fire started won a prize.

Kristy was the first to get a fire started.
IMG_4868.jpeg

Brian was next to get a fire started.
IMG_4869.jpeg

Tracy was next to start a fire.
IMG_4871.jpeg

Everyone eventually started a fire!

After we extinguished all the fires and had our laughs, we watched the sun set on Lake Huron.

IMG_4884.jpeg

After the sun set we started on our night trail ride. We stopped on the trail and saw the International Space Station fly overhead.

Our trail ride was short because we had a busy day on Friday.

Friday morning was flannel shirt day and we met up at Northwoods for breakfast. Can you believe this….I forgot my flannel shirt!!! Breakfast was on me.

4 of the girls(Cindy, Donna, Elizabeth, and Suzy) left the island, went to St. Ignace, and caught the ferry to Mackinaw Island. The game plan was for us to meet up at Pins Resort for dinner at 6pm.

After those of us staying to off-road, we headed to the trailhead at pins and started on the trails. We did Mu Nemisis, Conners Hole and tried to do Tight Twisties. We didn’t get far on the trail because it was overgrown. After Machette Mike and a couple of other started hacking a path to get our broncos a little was on the trail, we decided that it would be to much work and consume to much time to do Tight and Twisties. After a quick meeting, we decided to turn around and head towards Marble head.

We took the trail to Glen Cove on around to Marblehead. Once we got to Mablehead it was a Kodak moment.
IMG_4901.jpeg

After the pose, it was time to get some broncos up the steps at Marblehead. Adam was the first to go up, then Tim, then Dean, then Brian. Nice job guys!!!

We move into the scenic overlook just past Marblehead for a few photos and had lunch.
IMG_5578.jpeg

It was getting late in the day and we still had to get to Shale Beach and make it to Pins at 6pm for dinner to meet up with the girls who went to Mackinaw Island. We hustled to Shale Beach, and continued on to get back so we had enough time meet the girls at 6pm.

After dinner we met up for a campfire at the place where Tim and Elizabeth were staying. We may or may not have tapped into some bourbon. All I can say is LOTS of laughs at the campfire. Everyone learned about the S-A-F-E-T-Y Dance cook! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Saturday was Hawaiian Shirt day! We were the talk of the restaurant.
IMG_9265.jpeg
I was serving coffee to every table for the waitress in my Hawaiian shirt.

What the duck?!?!
We walked out of the restaurant after breakfast and 3 of our broncos had been ducked!
IMG_4922.jpeg
IMG_4923.jpeg
IMG_4924.jpeg

After breakfast we headed to a spot to find pudding stones. Everyone found some pudding stones and lots of leaverites!

We took a short break after that and met up again for our trip to Fossil Ledge. Most of us who aired back up before going to Fossil Ledge, aired back down when we got there. The ride to Fossil ledge was…..BUMPY!!!
IMG_4926.jpeg
IMG_4927.jpeg

After Fossil Ledge, we headed back to Pins for dinner, then had a campfire afterward for more laughs and and unfortunately said our goodbyes.

I hope everyone had as much fun as my wife I did. We look forward to our next EPIC adventure!!!

I left out the part about me being stung in the armpit while chopping a path for us on Tight and Twisties. 🤬

I’m sure I forgot or left out several other stories.

What a wonderful trip a second time-go-round, nice to have met a wonderful group of Bronco/Outdoor enthusiasts as everyone was.
You are a great Trail Leader Mike for our group or any other group, as well as the Jeep group who followed us, and how you helped them up Mu Nemisis as well.
Everything that we did was fun and wonderful time, and it was so nice to unwind at the end of the day around the campfire, and laugh like we all did, and “yes” we did have a a lot of laughs!!!

Just a video for the group, and now this song is ruined for me, since I can’t get a certain image out of my head, just “Thank God” that they don’t play this on the radio too often, however I will have to delete this from my MP3 Library!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣😆😆😆😆😆😆

You have all been a wonderful group of newly founded friends, and it was such a pleasure to have met each and everyone of you, “stay safe out there,” till next time, we’ll talk to you all later…..

The short version, and the version that Mike most likely was using on that special day……🤣

I know its been said over and over, but what an amazing group of people that Suzy and I got to spend some time with. I can't imagine having a better time. The weather was absolutely perfect except for Mike/Cindy and Brian/Kristy having to pack up in the rain on Sunday morning. Suzy and I actually got to see a bear on Sunday morning too. So cool!

Mike - Thanks so much for arranging everything and being our trail guide. We gave you a hard time once in a while but it was all in good fun. We all know what a huge undertaking it was to plan everything out and to have multiple events so everyone could do something they love. Also thanks for the great fire making contest. I can't say I was very good at it but eventually got a few flames.

Although we all know way too much about each other (some more than others - Mike!), but my stomach hurt because of laughing so much. So funny. 😂

Can't wait for our next gettogether!

I've heard Mike is a top-notch trail guide and trip planner. Looks like you guys had an awesome time; I'm smiling big just watching you guys at breakfast and starting to watch the trip video. People like you doing fun things together is why the Bronco community is so amazing.

This trip would not have been possible without the Bronco Nation and our community. We have our group and will run with our adventures.

My thoughts are for others to reach out in our community and find others to group up with to do these types of adventures. You may not hit it off with everyone at first. Work through your adventures and come up with a great group!

Please excuse me while I get back to the S-A-F-E-T-Y Dance!!!

Nobody read into this song, other than “it’s just a song.”
Let’s break it down, like most of you are thinking…….
If you can dance or not, it doesn’t matter, Mike will not leave you behind or even if your friends can’t dance and if they don’t dance, it won’t matter…….. he will not leave you behind, and if you can’t dance you’ll always be friends of his…
We’ll all go where we want to and it will be a place that we all can find, and don’t worry like I said, he won’t leave you behind!!!
The way we acted, it was just like everybody will, and we didn’t act like an imbecile.
The phrase “Everything is out of control” well maybe it was a little bit, but it was Just having a good time with lots of laughs with some good friends, and maybe to some viewing eyes from a distance, it may have appeared to be out of control.
The Safety Dance is when every last Bronco makes it up to the top, and no one broke anything or got hurt, then it’s the “Safety Dance.”
Remember….. it’s just a song that Mike found to have moved him in the right direction, to make that special connection!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
