Just took delivery of a 2021 Rapid Red Widtrak 4D. Really didn't like the look of the body pinch weld below the doors. Found on Amazon a body side molding 1" x 1/4" thick matte black in color that can be affixed with the supplied 3M adhesive. Will post pictures once applied.

XPEL Black Universal Door Sill Guard (60" x 2.75") Paint Protection Film Kit

This is what I and many others have used and it works great.

Look forward to seeing how this works. Would be nice for there to be another good option for everyone.

I used the tape because it was easy to punch through and still use the holes in pinch welds for my boards, but I guess you could drill through these. I'll be curious what you think. Levittown Ford has them for $213.93 2 Dr $222 4 Dr, btw.

I ordered my bronco with side steps so the dealership will get to figure that out.

Here are before and after images. This really worked out fantastic. The 1" x 1/4" matte black urethane molding with 3M adhesive tape worked like a charm....completely covers the ugly pinch weld. Easy to apply straight, just line up on the bottom of the pinch weld. Looks factory for $30 on amazon. If you want to duplicate buy: Dawn Enterprises automotive trim. ES12618-PK. All the best.

I ordered them also, be here tomorrow. I'm gonna find some nice steam punk black nuts, bolts and washers and drill the holes thru pinch weld and mount like a piece steel. Probably hold on better during a rough ride down a gravel road.

Nice work and thanks for sharing. I really like the Bronco in Red - that color really suits the vehicle.

Big design fail for many of these step & rail products that they don’t cover this unsightly area. I have the factory rails on my BL but want to add a real slider but don’t want to sacrifice ground clearance and definitely don’t want to see “that”!

Looks great. Mine is a OBX and the pinch weld has two bolts on each side towards the front. Did yours have those, if so how did deal with those?
