Hi everyone, I am brand new to the community and in search of help. I am finally receiving my Bronco next week and want to immediately update the wheels and tires. I have the stock Outer banks, non-sasquatch. This is my first off road vehicle and I am in need of guidance of any complications I may run into putting these wheels on. What size tires should I be looking for? Should I be looking at 17" wheels? I really appreciate your help.

I worked in the tire business for several years and here's a few things to consider. Adding an aggressive tread, size, and weight will reduce gas mileage by increasing rolling resistance. Plus, any dramatic changes will affect braking, speedometer, and other computer-related items and that will all need to be calibrated.
But, you can always go wider and keep the same tire circumference to avoid that. You could go with 17s, keep the same circumference, add width (within reason), and it would make a big difference in appearance without the need for any modifications.

Many people are running 33s with no change. Not even the crash bar removal.

As far as 17 vs 18 wheels. A 17 will give you more tire and less wheel. More sidewall is better protection for off-roading. Depends on the look you are going for and if you want to keep the stock wheels.

If you want to keep the stock wheels you could go with an265/70-18. A little wider and will add about 3/4" height.

If you want to go 17" wheels you have more choices. You can go 285/70-17, 33x10.5x17, 33x12.50x17.

Now if you want to add a slight lift like say with a level you can go 34s or 35s. Tons of choices there.

Figure out what you will be doing with your Bronco first. Daily driver with some light off roading. Dedicated off-road rig. Or something in between. Once you figure that out you can narrow your choices.

Thanks for the input Garemlin. My production blend date was 10/22. Still waiting to hear if it was actually built. I have been debating changing rims, but I like theOBX stock rims (I may be the only one though, lol). I bought a Zone Offroad 1 inch leveling kit months ago. I am thinking of the 265 70 18 Nitto Grapplers or TOYO for a more aggressive tire look. Is there another size to consider with the level or should I just skip the level and just go with 265's?? Wish I understood more about the width and spacing. I would prefer not having to remove the crash bars. Any feedback would be great.

For my OBX I’m thinking of going with some classic aluminum Pro Comp rims 17x9 with 285s.
