Does anyone have any experience with the TransAmerica Trail? I've been looking at it a whole day so far haha. I think it would be great to do at least portions of the trail, just looking for any feedback on the route or how easy it would be to do small sections over time.

The only thing I know is a bunch of Land Rovers did it awhile back so you will be just fine in your Bronco. https://media.landrover.com/en-us/n...erica-crossing-usa-road-north-carolina-oregon would be pretty cool driving coast to coast on primarily dirt :)

I ordered the maps from Sam's site today. I don't plan to upload them, I like to support guys like Sam and all the hard work they've put into developing the trail. That being said I will start planning as soon as they arrive and might try to organize a trip sometime of at least a section of the trail. I think the full trail would take weeks. I'll probably start with the El Paso to Trinidad route and maybe add in the cross over to MOAB. I think MOAB would be weeks on it's own too haha. Now I have a year to figure out how to get my GoPro to record more than 8 minutes at a time.:)

I've actually been considering taking delivery in Kansas City and then taking portions of the trail on the way back to Baltimore.

Ive also been thinking about it recently. My company has a sabbatical program and I've started think that could be my sabbatical - driving cross country on TAT in my Bronco. Would put a lot of mileage on my bronco in short time and maybe the wife wouldn't appreciate me being gone leaving her with the kids for 4 weeks, but not sure they would all want to come with either. My boys might, but pretty sure that would be way too much roughing it for the wife. But I can dream....

Iv recently started thinking/planning my celebration form retiring from the Army. and I was Ganna do 3-4 week across the US. But this seems better then just driving across.

there are google user created maps for the TAT that are free. This would be an interesting drive...wonder how much is bronco available, not just motorcycle?
