Hi everyone-

I'm heading to my first Off-Roadeo in Tennessee the end of June. I wasn't sure how many people have experienced snake sightings or encounters, especially copperheads & rattlesnakes. I've been seeing more and more articles appearing on line now that they are all coming out of hibernation. I wasn't sure if I should get a pair of Snake Gaitor Protective Guards as a precaution, or am I wasting my time and money or worrying too much about it? Thank you in advance.

@Mikes2021Bronco may have be able to help you ... He knows the area well and has experience trampling around in brush. I hope you have an excellent time at Off-Roadeo! The TN location is great.

In my experience with two off roadeos but (not the Tennessee one) if bringing snake gaiters were a recommended piece of equipment they would tell you. It’s not like the instructors are oblivious to the environment. You’ll get an email with what you should bring in the weeks ahead.

As Laura said, im born, raised, play and work here. Trust me, I hate rattleheaded coppermoccasins myself. But they are here, but I dont think you will need all that. But obviously you're welcome to wear whatever. Stay the beaten path. Pay attention, and watch your step, And I think you'll be fine.

Just got back from Tennessee a couple weeks ago. I agree with @Mikes2021Bronco, stay on the beaten path and pay attention. In my experience the foliage isn’t thick and I could clearly see where I was walking when outside the bronco. Luckily we did not see any snakes either! I will say heed the advice on wearing long pants and I’d recommend hiking boots. I did see a lot of poison oak and ivy.
