Today I headed over to the Poison Gulch area of Gifford National Forest for a day of fun 4 wheeling.. I hit the 1st trail at about 9AM and left the area at about 4PM. That's 7 hours of more fun than any human should be allowed to have..
Not like I ever need an excuse to hit the trails but I wanted to test out my newly installed Bilstein 6100's and Upper Control Arms.
I don't know what my Miles Per Gallon (MPG) was but my Smiles Per Gallon (SPG) was off the charts! 👍 💚
The Area Map: The Turquoise dashed lines are the new trails that I mapped today. I was able to get 3 new trails mapped and I also hit several other trails in the area.

The 1st trail of the day was is the one shown at the bottom of the above map - that runs by Bluff Mountain Trailhead. It was hands down my favorite trail of the new trails that I mapped.
This trail was a lot of fun with deep washouts, deep ruts, mud pits, narrow and overgrown trails and a lot of rocky areas. The trail was 9.2 miles long and according to onX, it took me 2 hours and 6 minutes to complete it. It was a lot of slow going from the start of the trail all the way to the end of it.. I probably spent 15 minutes of that time snapping photos and walking a few tight sections of the trail to get a line of attack..
The other 2 trails were easy'ish with nothing really special about them. They, like all trails, were fun just not much to report. They were your standard Gifford Forest Trails with some overgrowth, ruts, washouts etc.
I did have to abandon one other trail I had marked for exploration. About 2 miles in I came across a similar situation as my max pucker factor trail a few weeks ago. The trail was narrow and overgrown and about 2 miles in it narrowed even more with massive erosion on a cliff drop side. The driver side had dense forest so I could not move over any further than where I was. I estimated the Bronco would make this with about 6"-8" to spare without hitting the erosion and risking slipping off the cliff. I walked the trail a little further and notice it got even more narrow. Not wanting to risk a repeat performance of my pucker factor a few weeks ago, I decided to abandon it and turn back.
