What is everyone’s preference of app to use for off-road route planning? I mostly see people using Gaia, along with some OnX and AllTrails. What are the pros/cons of each?

I have not used many GPS apps for trail planning. I am currently using GAIA GPS for building trail plans in New England. Although the Bronco will come with a Trail Maps function, I thought it might not have many preloaded trails for New England.

The following links might be helpful. In the first link, you might enjoy understanding the “Public Tracks” function within GAIA. That topic is located in Post #27.

The following might also be of some interest. Some GAIA users are challenged in tackling the multiple layers functionality. The attached YouTube video might be helpful if you express the same concern.

I do like GAIA GPS so far and may equip my Bronco with my iPad if needed.

I was thinking about mounting to the dash my handheld Magellan with state-of-the-art black and white 3" screen ;)
