Yeah, lumbar back issues have kept us on IR most of this Colorado season. Ortho doc's finally loosened their leash and we headed up to Rocky Mtn Nat'l Park for an Old Fall River Road adventure. Much needed rained fell on us all morning - Afternoon was splendid!

It's a little early, but us leaf-peepers were rewarded with some great color.
Along the trail, there’s a beautiful waterfall.
Park service keeps this trail in pristine condition that climbs over 11,000ft elevation to the very popular Alpine Visitors Center.

We’re treated to a colorful sunset too.

The Bull Elk in these pics had a noticable limp before laying down. Injured bulls during this fall rut season's typical and this bull's rack actually looks to be in pretty good form. I mean, it's possible his limp's related to something serious, but I'm guessing probably just a temporary set back.

You see there's an elk cow herd some 500ft below his position with another bull 'in charge'. This bull's probably climbed to this position after a fight injury, so given that climb I think he's still a
strong fellow now keeping a close eye on the herd below. Yeah, that bull below's (lower center of this pic) probably in for more challenges soon..
