These high Colorado mtn trails don't wait for a calendar's fall declaration, so we headed up above historic Georgetown on a very twisty Guanella Pass Rd. to Argentine Pass trailhead. About an hour west of Denver on I-70, Guanella Pass itself's well worth a visit.

The trail starts very rocky as a gate-keeper warning to Subarus & such, but the Aspen trees are warmly welcoming all adventurers today.

And as we climb above treeline, the color is just as intense.

6 miles up the trail, we arrive at the old Waldorf town site, once location of the highest US Post Office!

We had an Jeeper's audience for these rocks, said "that Bronco came over that like it was nothing'!! Thanks to Bronco's tight turn radius & rear lockers, steering a 'S' pattern cleared these rocks without too much drama - And no damage!

Did get a little steep up here!

Couple tight switchbacks and careful tire placement through the tire-biters, and we were on top - With a 40-50mph wind blasting over the ridge!!

Just over Bronco's hood, the two peaks on the left are couple of Colorado's >14k ft mtn peaks, Grays & Torreys.

But the weather's quickly changing, and we really shouldn't over-stay our welcome up here. Besides the Jeep audience mentioned above, we passed only 2 side-by-sides & a motorcycle dirt bike above Waldorf - No other 4-wheelers.

Wheeling Argentine Pass trail demands your close attention, and our Bronco once again proves it's robust capabilities - Great FUN too!!
Cheers
