Just looking to see if anyone knows of any cool trails in Michigan. Looking for some local stuff that you don't need to plan for.

Depends upon if you are looking for an ORV park or something more of a wilderness atmosphere!!!
ORV parks are easy to find and look up, and there are a couple local ones around here.
The easiest way to find trails around any State would be to get yourself an APP, something like Gaia, Trails Off-road, or OnX.
I happen to use OnX, a great way to plan or even use the app when searching for good trails.
My personal experience when doing the trails that I have, it seems that the West side all the way over and up from North Branch seem to be the best trails in Lower Michigan.
The only UP trails that I have experienced is Drummed Island, and those trails are great, with lots of trails and with a different verity of ratings.
Where I enjoy the trails the most are on the West side of the State, trails like Lincoln Hills, Little Manistee, and Tin Cup, these are just a few.
There are many more on the West side that are great…..

One other Note:
Almost all off-road apps are free, however you can’t do much with them, but you will be able to see the trails and sometimes record them!!!
Just a couple of shots from OnX……

Thanks, Just downloaded OnX the other day. Haven't tried the ORV parks, Feel like those are big judgement zones. Would rather hit the trails any ways. I was afraid that someone was going to say that there are good trails on the west side and northern Michigan.

The closest trail that I can see is Gladwin….
But it looks small!!!

I tried a couple of the NFS trails near Manistee around October last year. It was dry and had no snow. So other than being unpaved, I thought they were easy enough for my newbie experience level. One of roads I used was actually in Waze as Six Mile Bridge Road. I think the NFS trails become more challenging in the winter with the snow. I know of some groups from Chicagoland that do a two-day trail run around Manistee around January every year.
