For all you GMRS types- the new midland MXT575 is out.

This is the 50 watt version of the MXT275. The 275 is 15 watt (This is the one I run in my vehicle and I have never had an issue with it), but I guess if you need all that power, here is an option. The 275/575 allows you to remote mount the head unit and the controls are on the handset for hidden set-up (if that's your thing).
There are some issues with the Midland approach to GMRS (split-tones, band width etc), but its an easy radio to use out of the box and it will do most everything you want to do for trail communications. Just thought I would flag it.

Hope this isn't off topic...
Is there any further information regarding this Aux1 wiring issue? I have the Rigid light bar (Ford Accessories) connected to Aux1. The wire to the roof (via the RH A pillar) did in fact melt the scotchlock connector that joined the light bar to Aux1 at one point. I replaced the scotchlock but am not certain whether the issue is corrected or will melt again over time.
The wire is not rated for 30 amps. I ended up getting a 30 amp fuel pump relay and wired it to Aux 1. I ran 10 gauge wire from the battery to the relay, then ran 10 gauge from the relay to the light bar.

We had the light bar on for 1.5hrs last night in the dark and no issues.
