GMRS antenna mount inside vehicle

I have purchased a couple of Midland MX275 GMRS radios for mine and my wife's Broncos. Reading on the Midland site it mentions that Jeep owners (yeah I know this is a Bronco forum) can mount the antenna inside the vehicle if it has the hard top as the fiberglass doesn't block the signal. Since we both have a hard top I was thinking of mounting it to the roll bar using the two mount holes (aft side of the bar on 4 door and window side on the two door model. Has anyone tried a similar installation? If so, any recommendations? If that doesn't work out I'm considering using the flag mount on the tailgate since it does have two holes.

I don't have my Bronco yet.

Was the mount you used already part of the brake light? Or did you add a bracket of some sort?
The bracket came with the antenna. Its a bit challenging to get it on there and the wire run to it but i like the result.

This is how I did the antenna installation for my MXT275

I have the magnetic antennae that came with my MXT275 attached to this very spot with no issues. I do have a soft top though.
