Last week in Moab, it was darn chilly for this Arizona boy. And a cold lunch wasn't gonna cut it. So I drew from my past experience to have a warm lunch on the trail.

The V6 has the perfect spot to warm your foil wrapped delicacy. The U shaped breather tube holds it nicely. Mine did not move even while doing Poison Spyder. The other folks on the trail reacted like it was a new novel idea, and that's why I'm posting this.

For my lunch I had the breakfast stop make me another breakfast burrito and wrap it heavily in foil. Making sure to have to foil ears at each end to secure my lunch to the bronco.

Now your basically reheating, or keeping the food warm. In the past the thigs we warmed on the engine have been fried chicken, Mmmmmmm. Porkchops, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, burritos, to name a few.
Now a warm queso with chips....Hmmmm

So share your ideas.

Well played and I am sure it was an amazing trip!

I am a fan of the old American standard of Hotdogs “cooked” in foil on the valve covers and nice warm buns on top.

My dad was always cooking something in the engine bay on road trips when we were young, I just thought that is how everyone cooked on road trips. LOL
But that Burrito was nice and warm and looked delicious.

That’s showing real trail fairing ingenuity, sir. A homespun solution to a real-world challenge. I mean, you can’t go hungry! Being “hangry” on the trail is no fun. I always pack a few snacks for hikes.
Chris here. I drive a 2-door Velocity Blue 2023 Ford Bronco Badlands with Sasquatch, Lux, a 2.7L V6, and an automatic transmission. It’s fun.

I remember we would do brats.
When we got to the lunch spot, we would 1st put the tortillas on the hood to warm up while we got chairs and drinks. Then wrap the hot brats in the warm tortilla.

Never cooked anything on the engine, but I do remember a Mythbusters episode where they cooked a holiday meal on a road trip. When I was in college in Southern AZ, I used to put individually wrapped frozen burritos on the dash. They were ready to eat at lunch time.
