Anyone have and use these? Thinking about purchasing a few but wanted some feedback.

Apparently, they are rock solid and do not fall off or fail..

https://www.seasucker.com/

They have a variety of options for RotoPax fuel can, Starlink Mini, HiLift Jacks, Traction Boards, Suction Cups with D-Rings,, etc.. They even have a pretty cool kitchen side table..

They are a bit pricey but if you don't want a roof rack, these might be an option..

I've seen those but never been brave enough to use them for something like carrying fuel on the side windows. I could just see my Rotopax go bouncing down the highway full of fuel. 😆

How did I ever get by without a suction-mounted paper towel holder?

Yeah that's my worry as well.. I did read a review where the person said they traveled 200 highway miles then 100 miles off-road without issues but I'd be stressing the entire time if rolling down the highway..

I might order their traction board mount then just attach the traction boards to it once I am at basecamp and will only be 4 wheeling.. As of now, my traction boards are just laying on the back seat..

Not a big deal either way, but with all the recovery gear I carry, space in my 2dr is getting less and less...

I am desperately trying to free up some space.. I also recently swapped out my Zamp 100W solar for a foldable Harbor Freight Predator 100W because it's foldable and is takes up MUCH less space than the Zamp did.. The HF can be folded down and put in my rear cargo area behind my car fridge..

The only thing I really need to charge with solar is the power bank that runs my car fridge. I can use my generator to charge the TigerMoth's batteries if needed..

I won several of these in a contest but have yet to use them. Got one rotopax mount and a couple d-ring mounts.

My bigger fear is that the rotopax go bouncing down the highway with my window still attached to it.

The people in my RV forum swear by them but I don't think they are using them on a moving vehicle.

Not sure I'd trust them at highway speeds but for slower off-roading I think I would..

I might order the traction board mounts and try them out.. Not sure but kicking the idea around..

I have 6 of the 4” mounts and have never used them. They seemed like such a great idea at the time of purchase but I never really found a real world use case for them. (damn my impulsive tendencies)

I put my traction boards behind the rear seats, flush up against them. To help secure them, used some Velcro straps on those little tie down things in the middle. Keeps them out of the way, and easy to get too.
Just ran out and stuck one there for a quick pic, not exactly how I put them there, but you get the idea. :-)

They have stayed in place well, no issues driving from Texas to Colorado, NM and Utah several times.

No room back there.. I have a car fridge (can't block the vents), a foldable solar panel, a battery pack and a Thors inflate and deflate system crammed in the rear cargo area already.. If I put my Wolfbox car fridge in the rear I have even less space as it's larger than the Dometic..

IMG_0555.JPGIMG_0556.JPGIMG_0557.JPG

My rear seat floorboard areas are packed full, and high, with recovery gear, tools, first aid kit etc as well..

IMG_0558.JPGIMG_0559.JPG

I go out solo most of the time so I need to be prepared to recover myself solo... Here is everything I carry and that is crammed into my 2dr Bronco.

  • Winch recovery gear
    • snatch block
    • recovery ring
    • tree protector
    • 6ea soft shackles
    • 30 foot kinetic recovery rope
    • 20 foot tow strap
    • gloves
    • 2ea hard shackles
    • Deadman V2 Earth Recovery Kit
  • MaxTrax Mini Traction Boards
  • Tire repair kit
  • First Aid kit
  • Bronco 84 piece tool kit
  • Extra Tie Rods
  • Duct tape and zip ties
  • Safe Jack with extensions
  • DMOS shovel

Other gear and items:
  • Car Fridge
  • Battery Pack for Car Fridge
  • Soloar Panel
  • Solar Panel adapters and extension cable
  • Thors Lightning inflate and deflate kit with hoses and smart brain unit
  • Garmin inReach Mini (I'll probably sell this as it's not really needed anymore)
  • Starlink Mini
  • DJI Mini 4 Pro drone with extra batteries

Tom Cruise used some of those in a Mission Impossible movie to climb the outside of a building so they must be good…. Only if Macgyver had them to use with duct tape and bubble gum.

I am considering their paper towel mount as well.. My camper does not have anywhere for a paper towel holder and having something mounted close to the slide out kitchen would be nice..

I've seen a few other options for paper towel holders and they are all about the same price. The others are permanent mounting solutions where their mount can be easily moved..

I have used the SeaSucker mounts on moving vehicles to attach skies and bicycles. With a few caveats, they perform quite well, holding thousands of dollars of various sports equipment securely at highway speeds. They must be mounted on a smooth, mostly flat surface like a window or metal roof top. Textured plastic surfaces will not hold. It is not complicated, but they must be installed correctly. Wetting the suction cup and/or surface helps, and then the suction must pumped correctly using the plunger. I highly recommend periodic checks to make sure the vacuum is not slowly being lost. It is easy to visually check the plunger to insure it is not beginning to extend ( the color on the side of the plunger makes it quite obvious ).
