We will be adding some Rotopax 2 gallon water containers to our side racks. Trying to decide which mount to go with. They offer 3 different mounts.

Recommendations?

Okay so the standard mount makes sense. LOX is the locking mount.

But what’s DLX?

Okay so the standard mount makes sense. LOX is the locking mount.

But what’s DLX?

The DLX has an extra block that rests on the container so as not to rub/wear on the container every time you use them.

I believe yes till you get to the 3 gal and up.

I use a standard LOX on my 3 gal fuel Rotopax without any problem.
'21 FE 2-door CG, '96 EB leather 5.8L, '68 Explorer 5.0 swap

The 4 gallon cans mount perfect so you can still pull the tee top panels off. Gotta get the lockers if you live in civilization or some shit head will steal them foresure.

All RotoPax mounts work for all RotoPax containers regardless of size or use (storage containers, water, fuel etc).
- 2023 Raptor / Shadow Black / MGV (DOB 8/30/23)
- 2023 Heritage Limited Edition / Robin’s Egg Blue / 4dr / (stolen from my dealer 11/15/23)

In an emergency, do you want other people to be able to access your water supply? I would. It seems almost reckless to lock that up.

They are locking up the expensive container, not the water. But, someone could easily tamper with that water. I would never use it for drinking.

Typically, you’d only put it on the truck if you’re going on a run with people you know enough to trust not to kill you.
