Hello everyone,

Since I'm solo for 99% of my remote trips, I always carry an emergency jump starter (not sponsored). Picked this one up last year and have helped a few people around town. But the main purpose it to save myself in the event I accidently kill my battery overnight.

It has started modern cars (like a Bronco) in town but wanted to give it a real test. So I did a video trying to start my dead 1963 FI Corvette. They're a tough start when the battery is full and wanted to really test this GooLoo out.

Hook it up and either let it sit for 10 min and start OR hit the boost button and fire it right up. I chose the boost button. Hopefully this will help you to choose a jump starter.

1. Is this device EMP proof?
2. Will it charge off your truck via USB?

Nice video, short, to the point, no obnoxious music. Thanks

Need a 2-3 inch lift on the Vette!

I'll check on that Vette lift. Maybe a rooftop tent? I'm not sure if it's EMP proof and it can charge off USB. Hope this helps!

Dear Mister B. Miller,

I just bought the Gooloo GS4000 the other day. I got two of them one for me and the other for my son. I think the packaging is where most of the cost is for this device...but I digest. Did yours come with the Speed Wall Charger? Ours did not and when I looked this up it is another $98 from Gooloo. As I did more searching it appears this is the same type of USB wall device that Apple came out with. They wanted me to buy one a few years back when I got my 1st smart phone. The Gooloo device is a 100W quick charge. I found a few 130W devices for only $55. Didn't know if you had done any homework on theses. It appears you can use the 130W instead of the Gooloo 100W. If you have any insight please let me know.

Thanks,
Dave

I can't say whether or not I have a speed charger, I just use the one that it came with. Seems to top it of every so often in about a half hour. I simply read reviews and did some research before buying. Very few bad things to say. I've jumper a few dead cars around town and my old Corvette. It's always preformed and holds a full charge for over a month. Looking good so far!

I got a hold of Gooloo today. The 100W USB that Gooloo sells, for $98, will charge the device faster. You can use a standard USB 110V wall plug, same as you use for a phone, etc. and it will charge the device as well just take longer. There is an LED readout on the one I bought. If you use a standard USB wall plug it only creates 6W of power. The Gooloo or other 100W wall plugs have 2-4 ports on them so you can charge more then one device at a time. I found a number of 100W plugs on amazon that are $50-$60. I'm going to get one of them and use it for my phones, pads, etc. Hope this helps and does not add confusion. These are not EMP rated, need to stick it in a bag when not in use.
