Anyone in the Virginia (or surrounding areas) have good experiences with dealers and sticking close to the MSRP? So far I'm seeing Ted Britt is closest (Fairfax, VA). I thought Sheehy Ford of Warrenton would be good, but, they're waaaay over sticker.

I'm asking because I'd like to reserve a Bronco starting in February of '23 when the order banks are supposed to open up. But I don't want to get to delivery and get shafted by the dealers.

You are wise to start the process now. I lived in Richmond, Virginia for nine years. I had Richmond Ford service two of my four Mustangs, but I would not recommend them for sales. I had a terrible interaction with the sales staff there, but as often as dealerships go through salespeople, they may now be worthy of consideration.

I got my third Mustang from Powhatan Ford (not sure if they're still around) and my fourth Mustang from Sheehy Ford in Midlothian. I would strongly recommend them both. They gave me up-front pricing and hassle-free delivery.

It's been years since I lived in Virginia, and the world has changed A LOT, but I wish you luck with your search!

EDIT: In the time it took me to write this post, I noticed that you decided upon a dealer! Congratulations! :geek:

If you can take time and travel about four hours south to Elizabeth City, NC I would tell you to go to Hall Ford in Elizabeth City and ask for David Shope. He is the General Manager there and will definitely shoot you straight and sell you your Bronco for MSRP. I have purchased five cars from him since 2016 and he was the first and only person I went to when I ordered my Bronco. He actually worked with his Ford sales rep to get mine scheduled and kept me in the loop via text. Not sure if he does that for everyone, but he did for me. I have never been just another number...and he was totally transparent with how many orders he had, how many allocations they get, and what number I was in the mix. Although Ted Britt will sell at MSRP, I would bet they probably have double the orders of Hall with half the allocations. For Hall being a reasonably small dealer they manage to get roughly 3-5 allocations per month and are getting them built. My Wildtrak is built and waiting for shipping.

I'm in Maryland and noticed the sales tax in VA is 4.15%. In Maryland it is 6%. What are the Pros and Cons? Ted Britt Ford is like an hour away, I would drive there to buy and save money. Thoughts?

Update: 12/12/2022

Yes, dealerships charge sales tax for the state where the vehicle will be registered. You guys were correct. Thank you.

Hmm. I’m not entirely sure but I think dealers have to charge sales tax for the state where the vehicle will be registered. Not where it’s sold. Probably worth looking into though.

Yikes! I'm paying 10.25% sales tax here in Seattle! Sales tax can vary by region within the state, though. For instance, my Dodge dealer sold me a Challenger in 2019 in another region of the same state that had a lower sales tax rate. This saved me $800 in sales tax. Unfortunately, when I went to look for a Ford dealer in the same region to buy a Bronco, none of those dealers returned my call, so they didn't get my business (but unfortunately, I didn't save any money, either).

On top of that, because I live in the greater Seattle metropolitan area, I also have to pay a Regional Transit Authority "RTA Fee" which is equivalent to 1.1% of the MSRP of the vehicle at the time of purchase. That's another $600 on top of my deal. So, consider yourselves fortunate. I'd LOVE to pay only 4.15% sales tax! *Sad trombone*

Silver lining: There's no state income tax in Washington state. :geek:

Battlefield Ford in Madison county is where I got mine for MSRP. If you decide to check them out, PM me.

Newport News VA, Bowditch ford sold mine for 400 below MSRP. For the dealer models they have an added “Market Offset” of 5K but talked to them yesterday and they said they have already seen the bronco market cooling down so the have even sold for 2500 over. I’m 90% sure anyone could get MSRP from them though on an order.

I see you already went with Ted Britt, but just for others, Ourisman wanted 20K markup for the Bronco Raptor, and Sheehy had 15K markup on the Maverick.

Sheehy does have ADM or mark ups from what I've seen, I live in DC and went to Academy Ford in Maryland. Its a smaller dealer but all their 22's were scheduled. I THINK I was the last MY22 in there Bronco que and they sell at MSRP and are great. Ask for Jackie, as much as I bug her, let her know AK sent you lol
