VIN Number for tracking order

Looking for some insight as to when I should expect a VIN number.
I converted my 2021 order to a 2022 in October with SanTan Ford and I still haven’t received a VIN number or production date. I have an order number, my priority code is 10, and my July 2020 reservation number starts with 102. Based on this info, I’d like to understand if its normal not to get a VIN number months after your order has been submitted? I’d like to be able to track the vehicle but can’t without a VIN.
Just looking for information about the process so I ask the right questions of the dealer. Thanks in advance.
Also, deleted the tow package from my order in December and still nothing.
After finding the feed and comments, looks like lots of others are waiting too.

Sadly, you will get a vin # once you get a build date.

From what I understand, there really is no difference (as it pertains to the Bronco at least).

If I had to guess though, under "normal" circumstances, if a dealer had multiple orders for a specific model, the lower the number would get picked before the higher number. Only problem is, with the Bronco, you have more than just a priority code to factor in, specifically, build constraints.

When my order was put through, I was a priority code 16.

Now if you had Priority Code 1 or 2, that'd make a huge difference, those are meant for "Priority Status" people. I read that Ford handed out those special builds in the beginning for the Bronco, 1-2 per dealership.

I checked with my dealership out of curiosity since I never saw any information or updates from the tracker. They told me I had a VIN number and a production date about two weeks before I finally saw that information in the tracker.

Here’s two answers from Ford employees that I got on priority codes but with the lack of communication or lack of transparency from Ford/dealer the answer could be something completely different than these responses.

1. On SOLD retail orders dealers can place priority codes from 10 to 19. If two identical units are submitted for scheduling the 10 will be pulled before the 19. With the reservation time stamps on Bronco's you can throw that out the window as the time stamp supersedes the dealer priority code.

2. When the reservation is converted to an order, it will automatically start as a 99. Once any information (body code, equipment code, color, options, etc) is changed, it will switch to a 19. 19 the highest code a retail order can have. The lowest is 10. The lower the priority, the more likely it is to get scheduled in a given scheduling period. On every other vehicle line, the dealership has some input on the production timing by prioritizing the orders. The most desired a 10, followed by 11, etc. Our understanding is that within a given production period the dealership can influence which units get produced quicker. Meaning, if their are 20 eligible units by time stamp getting built with a 4 week production period, the lowest numbers would fill the 1st week, then 2nd week, etc. It is Bronco and a new process, though, so time will tell.

So based on what you typed above you called them and they did not reach out to you with that VIN info. Hmmm

I don’t think they were aware that it was there or my timing on asking about it coincided with it showing up in their system.

Love my Bronco!

I had to email my dealer for an update and he provided my VIN. I got no notification from Ford, and my Ford account is still showing no orders or reservations.

Here's a copy and paste from a post I made a while back regarding priority codes...Yes, the lower the # the better, but as some have stated with the Bronco all bets are off. The main thing is to make sure you are code 10-19. I'm a 10, res Aug 2020, order Aug 2021, converted to MY22 Oct 2021, received build date (2/7/22) on Dec 16th, just got my VIN on 1/20.

Codes 1-9 - reserved for A plan/ X plan or Ford employee orders.
Codes 10-19 - people who order from dealer (like pretty much everyone on this site).
Codes 20-80 - dealer stock.
Code 99 - hold code/ order pending, do not build.
