Rebate check delay

Anyone else waiting on a rebate check from Ford? When I took delivery of my 2022 Ford bronco in May of 2022 from Asheville Ford the salesman told me I was due an approximate $2500 credit/rebate from Ford because I was one of the early reservation holders and had waited almost two years to get the vehicle. He said typically this rebate simply reduced the purchase price but he went on to explain because my address had changed since I made the reservation the Ford system would not let him apply the rebate to the purchase price but Ford would mail the check to me within about six weeks. The salesman stated he had several customers in the same situation and Ford was working on it. It’s going on three months now and the check has not arrived. I’ve called Ford and been bounced around to six different people who all said the next person they were transferring me to could solve the problem.I was transferred until I finally was directed to a voice mail stating they would return my call. Still no return call. Still no check. So… just wondering if anyone has received the checks.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the dealer gets that (a few computer clicks on their end in the FMC system)and not the consumer from what I have seen here

Yes the dealer usually does receive the rebate but since my reservation address did not match my new address where I registered the vehicle, Ford’s computer system would not accept my dealer’s request for the rebate. ( That’s when the dealer told me Ford was working on the issue and would send me the check) I spoke with the dealership yesterday, they said they had no way to help but had heard a few customers in the same situation had received rebate checks directly from Ford. So I guess I’ll just keep calling Ford.

You shouldn't have to be the one chasing this check down, this should be the dealer doing the legwork. Have you talked to the Finance Manager or the GM at the dealership? Perhaps Ford is just behind on issuing checks. If I'm not mistaken, Ford audits all deals and if there is money owed, they make sure to get it back to the customer and it's usually sent to the dealer first, then the dealer cuts the actual check....at least this has been my experience in the past.

Good luck

That's my understanding it has nothing to do with an address, it has to do with the person and purchase. The dealer gets the check(rebate via computer system, there is a thread about this)

Alright so here is how it works for those curious.

There are two rebate / price protection systems in play here:
  • A private offer for the 2021MY price protection.
    • This was part of Ford's special price protection program for early reservation holders and this comes from Smart VINCENT (internal Ford application for dealers).
    • Dealers have two ways to apply this
      • The dealer can apply the discount when the vehicle is bought
      • The dealer can charge you full price, and Ford will send you a rebate check later
  • Retail price protection for the mid-year price increases for the 2022MY.
    • This is just Ford's standard retail price protection program they have for all vehicles.
    • Again two ways to apply this
      • The dealer can apply the discount when the vehicle is bought
      • The dealer can charge full price and wait the 30-45 days for Ford's verification process. Once verified it is on the dealer to email you the check, it will not come from Ford.
Both of these processes require order verification. That is... the name/address of the individual who bought the vehicle is the same name/address as the individual who placed the original order. If it does not match, that verification process fails and the dealer will have no discount in their system to pass down to you.

Sounds like that is what happened to @Carolina Bronco. Unfortunately there isn't much the dealer can do about it other than pester Ford.
