My status is "Shipped" and I'm wondering if there's any way to see the progress of the railcar. Any ideas?

This was posted on Bronco 6G. Not sure if its still accurate as a few of the tracking methods they list have changed. Needless to say, rail is very complicated:

First you will need the rail car letters and numbers. It is on the visibility report or DORA which is from the dealership. You MAY be able to get it from the SVT people but they seem often in a cranky mood and may tell you to get it from the dealer.

There are two major rail companies.

CSX is everything east of the mississippi
UP is everything west of the mississippi

But they all start out on CSX so once they have it in their system they will follow it all the way.

So, how do you track your truck on a railcar?

First and most important. Never talk to live personnel at the railroad! Only use automated phone system. If it attempts to transfer you to a live person please hang up. The railcar information we are provided by is given as a courtesy and if we call live personnel we may lose the access and ability to track.

CSX
1. Call the CSX 1-800-235-2352
2. When prompted for location or weight, press "1" on your phone for location.
3. When prompted for the car initials, say CN (or whatever initials you have) then wait for the next prompt.
4. When prompted for the car number, say 907048 (or whatever your number is)
5. When prompted for next car say DONE.
6. That's it; enjoy your updated status report.

Union Pacific
1. Call UP at 1 800 877-5123 1 800 877-5123
2. Follow phone prompts for Trace
3. Say the railcar number complete and clearly. Example CN123456 all together
4. Listen for your update

NS Norfolk Southern
1. Call 800-635-5768
2. Press 2.
3. Press 2.
4. Enter the letters on the numeric keypad then press #. As in: TTGX will be 8849
5. Enter the numbers then press #. It wasn't taking my voice prompts but typing worked.

Awesome...this is what I was looking for! Quick question, what's SVT stand for? My dealer has been so out of the loop, I will try them but also any other avenues. Also, my brother works for CSX so I may have an in to circumvent those issues. I'll let you know what I find out! Thanks!

What was your Built Date? Just wondering, mine was 2/19 and still hasn't shipped.

SVT (Special Vehicle Team) is Ford's performance team. They developed the Cobra, GT500, Raptor and other special cars.

Saw an article the other day where vehicles are being taken off rail cars, or at least they are trying.

I followed this on the Covette C8 site, one thing they stressed was if you actually get a person, just hang up...dont talk to them as the tracking method is a not-for-public process and they asked not to ruin it for others tracking their cars. I tried it, but never got the prompt for info...just kept going in menu circles.

Good luck!

Is there a way to contact them? I don’t find a phone number online. It seems they may be able to give me the rail car info that my dealer cannot. Not sure, but worth a try.

Thanks, all, got my rail information from the dealer today. It made it from Detroit to New York and it's a mere 15 miles from my house at the local CSX rail yard. I'm so tempted to drive down to the tracks and poke around!

Mine was built and shipped on April 1st. It’s not csx it’s on Ms Norfolk southern. I have the letters and item number from my dealer. My ordertrack app says it’s in transit to dealership on April 14-19 but I called number to trace and it says no tracing. Wtf. How do I even know now even with the eta and it saying in transit. Any answers would be appreciated

Who did you call? Did you contact the Ford SVT (Special Vehicle Team) and follow the info from Flip17 above?

No I just called my dealership and had them directly call the Norfolk rail company. He gave my vin and his information. Have hope believe it or not after 8 days I finally got my truck traced and it’s in Pa now awaiting convoy to bring to dealership. It’s a week in lag to update the system. Best of luck.
