Ford "so called" Price Protection

Has anyone who has had their order 2021 vehicle pushed to a 2022 model due to the hard top issue had any issues with price protection?

I am in the process of taking delivery of my 2022 Badlands with the Sasquatch package and Ford is only providing $825 dollar credit for price protection. Between the Base MSRP and the Sasquatch package increases for 2022, the total vehicle price went up $1,895.

Ford is not willing to do anything else other than the $825

That’s crazy. What are they say why? Are you talking to customer service(corporate) or the dealership?

Local dealership is saying that it is all Ford Motor Company is offering, "out of their hands".

I have called corporate customer service twice and I been passed from one department to the next each time. Not able to find anyone that can do anything.

Can you post/list your 2021 build compared to your 2022 build??

Ford's price protection numbers cover the base MSRP cost for all trims, as well as the bumper change for Black Diamond and Badlands. If your price increased by $1895 then something got added in your 2022 order that wasn't on your 2021 order... or your dealer is just straight up charging you more.

EDIT: Also worth noting that there was no price increase on the Sasquatch package--or any other package.

I've been a reservation holder since Jan 2020, order holder since Jan 2020. My original dealer told me a couple months ago it was going to be a $20,000 ADM on top of my original order price. I had to search over 400 miles away to find a similar bronco I could buy off the lot. I think $1,800 sounds like a hell of a deal.

In fact, I had to call Ford (twice!) after the original dealer refused to cancel my order after I bought my bronco somewhere else. I'll be damned if a dealer can make me feel powerless, I'll go a long way when pushed into a corner.

Sas did increase. Hear is my dads sticker. Getting delivered next week. And my order being made in March.

Unless his is half price because his is 2 door and mines 4.

Can barely read that picture of your WBDO printout, but I think I got all the options you selected.

Not sure how you (or the dealer) is getting $1895 difference. I'm only $825 more, which is the exact same amount as the price protection certificate.

Also, the Sasquatch package didn't actually increase. It seems like it did, but that's only because the price includes the cost of the automatic transmission. It's a change they had to make when they made Sasquatch package available for manual transmission. But the price overall doesn't change.

The 10 speed transmission in my 2021 build was part of the 2.7 L Engine option and did not include the extra $1,595. The dealer stuck the $1,595 on his quote while Ford tacked it on to the Sasquatch package charge on the Window Sticker. I had also ordered my 2021 with the winch package for another $2,500. Now they want $3,500 for the winch package plus installation fees!

SMH. That’s an issue with corporate and ford. Ford says install included or this price. But it ends up making dealer lose. So the. Dealers fight you. I had this issue when I got window vents and gator Ba bakc mud flaps for my 350. Install was like $50 each. So middle of winter. No brainer for me. Dealer wnated 100 each. I showed website and my order and they had no ground. Other then to bitch about it. And do it to keep my service.

I still don’t know how you ended up with a $1895 price increase because the $1595 + $825 is definitely does not equal $1595. And the table you provided in the earlier post does not match the WBDO printout you listed earlier. Your table listed high package and leather seats while the WBDO had the lux package and vinyl seats.

But sounds like the dealer quote was wrong. In 2021, the automatic transmission was never part of the 2.7L option. It was always a separate purchase. It is still that way for 2022 unless you order the Sasquatch package. Only then does the automatic transmission drop to $0.

Don’t know the story behind the winch, but it is not a factory invoiced accessory, so Ford can’t offer any sort or price protection on that. As far as I know it was always $3500, but could be wrong, I don’t have any of the price lists for the accessories.

$1,895 was from adding the $250 increase in the Base MSRP to the $1,595 increase in the Sasquatch package. I forgot to mention that the 2020 Window sticker also included a $575 charge for the Front Bumper but that was not included in the dealership's Buyer's Order.

I'm guessing at this point that perhaps there was a glitch in the 2021 Build program that somehow missed the $1,595 up charge for the transmission when you selected the 2.7 L Engine because if you build it today, it adds the $1,595 regardless of whether or not you select the Sasquatch package then adds the $4,090 for the package as well.

Regarding the winch, I have a printout of my original 2021 build, "Winch and Winch-Mounting Solution Kit - $2,500"

I thought the price protection was a "coupon" of sorts for the difference between (model-specific) MSRP from one year to the next, but not necessarily option specific?

I'm still not seeing what you are seeing. When you add the Sasquatch package it drops the transmission price to $0. But maybe there was something wrong with the 2021 order. We won't know for sure unless you still have your 2021 sheet.

Yeah you are correct. But the option and package pricing did not increase from 2021 for anything that was factory invoiced. The only thing that did increase was the base MSRP across all the trim levels. So the rebate from Ford covers that base MSRP increase.

Black Diamond and Badlands got a larger rebate because in 2021 the HD modular bumper was a standard option. In 2022 it was not... so the rebate also included the cost of the bumper upgrade.

If I remember correctly, there was a time early on where there were a couple of B&P glitches. But that made the original one higher?

You are correct. It does drop the $1,595 when you add the Sasquatch package. The issue is when I order the Sasquatch package on the 2021 model it was $2,495. On the 2020 build it was $4,090. That is a $1,595 dollar difference. Add that to the $250 difference and my vehicle price is $1,895 higher than my 2021 build. The Ford "price protection" credit they are giving is only for $825. Dealership said that was all Ford Motor Company was giving. Call Ford customer service twice, talked to at least 8 different people. NOTHING, most simply tried to transfer me to another department.
